Yes I'm currently scouring Fleabay for various discharge tubes and this looks good.

Original Geissler tube as are getting rare, although there his someone in Germany making recreations.

I love the colours of neon and argon...

How do you power those tubes? That looks cool!

Power supply is transforemer 120v 60hz in 3500v 8ma out
suggested to keep less than 30 seconds.

I've seen people do it with neon sign power supplies with a huge resistor to limit current (say 100k 2W). Actually a HeNe laser power supply is almost perfect. You only need about 2kV at a few mA.

I'm looking at a few of these now, also a few neon and argon lights, and a few of the thin capillary tubes the use for spectral analysis with various noble gasses.

I apologize, I didn't intend to sound like a goof over exaggerating the danger of Uranium glass. I admit, I didn't know it was so low concentration.

I didn't mean to detract from the thread, it is just that understanding some of the facts of DU exposure is something I feel is very important. Just not related to small amounts that are in Uranium glass.

Nah, that wasn't directed at you, but at other forum posts I've read elsewhere. People see "uranium" and think it's going to make them glow.

You're right about DU exposure though, especially from rounds that have impacted a surface and shattered. Radioactive particles in breathable form are a terrible thing.
