Tutorial: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

More Pictures!

These pictures are taken with the tiny dichroic mirror from the GGW 6X sled installed in my custom cap as shown in the first post...

Taken in complete darkness. And yes, these are the real colors! :D

These pictures show how nice the yellow is now! :)

Power measured with the GGW dicroic mirror installed:

Red - 3.8mW
Green - 2.4mW
Yellow - 6.2mW

SCHWEET! :D

(Perfect alignment needed for these results)

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Hi not sure if this is the right place to ask but i just got one of these red/green pointers and was wondering what diode you guys were using with the 10440 batteries? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Thanks jay i thought that's what you guys were using just wanted to make sure. Now i just have to wait for my mirrors to come in and see if i can align them properly.

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Your welcome!

Hope your build goes well...

It's a great project! :)

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Thanks again just got the laser now as i was typing but its not the same one as you guys are working on i ordered it from amazon here is link

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YBQ66M/ref=oss_T15_product

The picture in amazon shows the same one you have but the one i got is different it looks alot like the one from dx but it takes aaa batteries instead of 2xn wich is a good thing i think i guess i don't need the diode after all here is a pic of what i got from amazon and it only took 3 days to get to my doorstep. So now i just need my mirrors :)

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

If the quality of the lasers are the same, then you got a better laser with that better capacity!

I hate Amazon...

They always send something different than what is advertised. That's why I don't order anything through them anymore. But you may have got something better than what was advertised!

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

See Jays tutorial on this MOD. The info. you seek is at the very end. it's a silicone diode

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Any news on your build Rob?

Show pictures when you get it! :)

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Hi Jay, I promised my builder that I wouldn't bug him about it, & to just PM me for S&H costs when he was done. He just got the kit on WED. I think, & he PM'd me that MAYBE he might work on it this weekend, but no promises. I told him to just take his time so that the optics were aligned for optimal yellow out-put. When I get it, I'll attempt some pix. I've managed to post a few in the multimedia section, I just have to remember how I did it, LOL.........rob

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Way to be Rob...

He will want to take his time with it. It is tedious, and can get frustrating too.

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

I was just going by what YOU told me. So, pat yourself on the back :thanks::wave:................rob

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

Hey thanks but I just followed the idea from rog8811...

The yellow is a combination of both red and green, so it will be the same hazard level as both lasers put together, which is exactly what it is.

Both combined, I get less than 7mW's total output power...

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

That looks cool!

I was going to try and make something just like that! Except use a blu-ray and a green to get a Turquoise beam...

Not too much power for the mirrors. But not sure about the blend. Green can easily overpower red.

It doesn't give much detail?? I wonder if it has two separate switches? And if you have to rotate the cap or what? It also doesn't say what power the red is supposed to be...

Re: Yellow Pointer Project - Cool!

^ even if they give you power in mW it won't be what they say when you get it ;)

It more than likely will be + or - of actual rating... maybe you could place 2 of the GGW lenses in the green side 1 before one after after to get the blending more favorable either way, the potential for a 150 or +... 594nm is there and your the one to do it.
