Nice job. These hosts are really nice. I'm already kicking around a build for the one I'm waiting for him to send whenever the other host I ordered arrives to him from China.

If anyone's looking for a cheaper more DIY 405nm PHR based project check out the link in my sig. </shameless_plug>

Nice build man I should probably attemp something like this.

Btw you dont really have to Heatsink jibs drivers but it would be better if you did anyway

+1

Btw don't you use a negative wire at all and is this the same with a Cree c3?

Great build.:)

I would like to suggest to you not to Wrap your Driver with electrical tape like that. You are basically Insulating the heat more coming off the LM1117 driver.

At 1.4W witch i think that driver is set to 1.3A IIRC, You need a heatsink on the Drivers LM1117. That thing must be getting extremely hot.

Just my .02 cents.

Just a warning.. buy real safety goggles. I have a small pile of some exactly like those that I got from the same chinese supplier I get my lenses from to test.. I didn't like what I found out so I decided not to carry them.. Even though they're orange. no pair of the 5 sets I got tested higher than an OD of .9 @ 445nm. That means at 1.4W, if they're identical to the ones I have.. which they look it.. They will still pass 155mW or so.. which is still in NO way eye safe.

In the kit I sell they are included. But if you would like to buy them separately mah stands for how much capacity is in each battery. So the 1600mah will have longer run times then 1200mah and 880mah.

Nice job with kit and tutorial. It's good to see these at an affordable price, and you did a great job with the pill mod to allow for CR123 batteries.

I didn't see anything mentioned of LPM tests. Did you use a LPM to get that 1.4W power rating you are advertising or are you estimating based on the current?
