G'day,
So i had been waiting to put one of them 3.8mm diodes in a host for some time now and thanks to rhd and his aluminum MOD38 modules it is now possible!
He looks lonely in such a big module
I did some testing with these diodes on the lab supply, and they seems to dim around 220-230mA so i set mine for 200mA.
The best lens for these are obviously the 405-G-1 but being so low in power its not really worth the pennys. The next best lens is the uncoated standard acrylic lens you get with your aixiz module.
The 3 element glass lens for 405~445nm has more losses than the uncoated acrylic.
The Trustfire F-25 is a nice stainless host, looks good, has a bigger pill than most this small because it runs 2 boards for the driver so you can fit a flexdrive in very well!
It runs off 1x14500 Li-Ion cells.
I had bobhaha make me the heatsink for this host, thanks man!
Im using a custom "Ezy Focus Adapter" from Jayrob which was intended for his 10440 Stainless kit but it fits nice on this one too!
As you can see it makes a steady 135mW!
Single mode Goodness! (yes i know theres a hair one the lens in this photo)
Thanks for looking!
