Thread topics: make sure they describe subject not "woot!" or "check it dude"

One of the more annoying things about a forum is making sure that you take the time and though necessary to make sure the title of your thread reflects the subject of your posting.

As intelligent people, we like to be looked at by others and at least knowing what we are talking about and have people take us seriously. I can guarantee you though, that if you are going to post a new thread entitled "look at my new l33t lazorz" or "woot!" that very few people will even take the time to view your thread let alone respond to it. Also people's respect of your intelligence and knowledge will proportionatly go down!

So please, be respectful of us and we'll do the same. If your going to post a topic about a youtube video you find humorous, at least post what the video is about instead of just "look at this funny thing"

That video should be displayed to every new member. Then the registration question should be something about this video instead of 2+2?

Btw, when it says "it is always better to post in an existing thread than starting a new one" I almost falled of the chair. rofl xD

A simple few questions that require a new member to use the search, to complete membership. Now with the old form search, it was hard for me to get what i needed, so i read alot.
But with the new form search, it work's much better IMO.

That is a very good point Ken, i am a new member myself but i agree completely with those statements. I hate it when people post threads and the title has nothing to do with what the thread is about. So thank you Ken!

lol to be honest, i had this thought in my head as well but i know nobody would listen to a noobie member.

Glad I looked, I almost posted this same thing.

Seems like every day someone starts a new thread that is horribly non descriptive.

I will add a link to this thread and start spoon feeding it. (seems the only way some folks get the point!)

On my forum I have even resorted to "fixing" thread titles myself when appropriate.

Titles should be descriptive to secretive... IMO...
