this POPULAR host/laser has a secret....can install optical effect

hi..... chatting on msn with rayfoss.... they told me that a laser that they sell is capable to fit in the famouls 5 optical effect.........

i am speaking about this host.

they told me that REMOVING the white circular cover... there are threads that fits perfectly with the star... etc... patterns we have seen so many time in 5 in 1 pen.

this is a feature VERY NICE. i was llooking for a 445 capable to mount this effect cap.
BUT I ASK YOU TO TRY THIS............. IF IT IS REALLY TRUE.
revome the white circle........and try to insert a star effect etc.

On most of the hosts I've had that look like that (though admittedly not exactly like that) the white cover is actually a sticker.

Someone who owns this should confirm before anyone puts their entire hopes and dreams on such an undertaking and orders just for that feature

If it is truly 1W, Those star effect caps wont last and will probebly melt if there not glass. Becareful.

I remember a guy who made the very first brief review about a RF660-FWT mentioned the same thing, that starcaps fit very well in the host.

Too bad i could not find the thread anymore but i bet its true, i myself cant confirm this because neither i dont have any starcaps and also cuz i like the white cover .

...But i can confirm there are indeed some threads below the cover.

Hey anselm...where did u buy the adaptor in the link?it is really flat...

However....the hole seems ok only for green lasers....i think it has a diameter of about 2 max 3mm. 445 lasers have 5 or 4mm diameter...do u think it could fit?or ..will some light be locked?

I bought a 5 in 1 green pen from ebay, pulled the tip's adapter and then grinded
and filed and sanded it down, that's why it's so flat.

Hmm good question, does it work for a 445nm beam.....
I tried holding the effect cap in front of a blue laser, and it DID work,
but maybe some part of the beam got clipped off, and I don't know what
will happen to the gratings after continuous 1W fire.:shhh:
Maybe I'll try that out.

I have such a Host and hate it. To adjust the focus it goes so hard, it always unscrew the next part of it. Hate it !!!

maybe try to put some oil.. etc... or specific product for threads.... made of silicone gel ultrathin.....

however ANSELM you got a good idea... to cut the down part of the adapter..... nice. but i think these optics are made for 1mm or 2mm diameter beams. i don't know if is ok with 4 or 5mm diameter.
