They pick another politician

Wow, just found out the nomination for the peace prize would've had to have been submitted no later than 9 days after his inauguration. Must have done a lot of diplomacy in his first week.

What are they saying he "did" to "deserve" this?

His attempt at creating an open dialogue between opposing nations and trying to end world violence through increased and fair diplomacy.

Anyone see the last SNL, the intro was hilarious and directly on topic. :D

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.

^Somehow I can't imagine congress not consenting to the president winning the Nobel Prize.

Congress routinely allows the President to accept gifts, on behalf of foreign governments. Although technically, those gifts often remain the possessions of the government, and any gifts that he wants to keep, he technically has to buy from the US government. At least that's how it often works, IIRC.

According to the local news rag --- They gave it to him because of his "VISION". :-(
Hell -- I got 20/20 too. How about me?

Speaking for an independent stand point, when are they going to give Obama a break. Bush cripples the country and no one says hardly anything the whole time its happeneing. Obama gets elected and gets the whole shit pile dropped on his lap, then gets thrown under a microscope. The man is trying, and has a decent well intended agenda. Something Bush never had. People need to give the guy a break. So what if he does not follow though on half his list. At least he has a list. If he only gets half the list accomplished it will still a huge move forward for the US. He is working hard to erase the black eye the US has in the world. People should be behind this, and not making an issue out every little thing he is doing.

Tech... IIRC the last 4 months of the election was a crap on Busch fest.

Can you see the trend in less than then a decade kids went from saying I want to grow up to be the President of the United States... to I just want to grow-up.

PS most of the House and Senate were under the control of the same bunch we have now, as in the Busch years... so, the blame, if any should be more level in that sh*t sandwich we are all eating..."not from a independant standpoint".

I wasn't picking on him any how just that fact that there are some better picks out there to choose from other than the promise of what one head of state will do. kay!

Dude they all suck IMO. Not many people want to be politicians. And the ones that do have major issues obviously. All we get to choose from is a$$hole number 1, or a$$hole number 2.

Believe it or not I'm not a big Obama fan. I just think they need to give him a chance. A least he is pointed in the right direction. All the pressure could make him crack. And thats not cool. I'm sure people smile at the thought, but we need someone sane to bring the country back to a semi normal state. If he freaks out we are all screwed. We all should be supporting the move forward.

Uh, i have only one doubt ..... How can you BUY a Nobel prize ? ..... :D :eg:
