in my invoice it says "sent" now no more "pending".

mikeeey - Since this is your thread, I am sure you will be willing to entertain us with a 100 page review when you receive the laser...and don't forget the beam shots.. ;D

the only part that annoys me is how long i've been waiting. I wanted a laser before this semester was up for my astronomy class but it doesn't look like that's going to happen...
whoa thats cool! how many mW for each diode?[/quote]

not sure trying to figure it out. I think i'm going to have to have someone build it for me, so it kinda depends on price.

and you definitely need to do a review to show me what i missed out on!

o yes of corse! there will be lots of pictures. video will be kinda hard on my phone, until they fix the camera problem, it tries to take in too much light causing very bad framerate in low light areas, i can still try tho. the camera is really nice, its a 3mp camera + Autofocus. i have the AT&T Tilt (HTC Kaiser) Pocket PC.

i think its cool that on DX you can make reviews and actually recieve points for it.

so you dont even have prototype build? yea its gonna cost quite a bit for the blue laser. green and red shouldnt be so bad.

No, i've got absolutely nothing, not even the iPod. and, I don't know the first thing when it comes to how to build lasers. Thats why I was hoping someone else could help me out.

And i'm not planning on using an actual blue laser, but a blu-ray one.

arent blue rays like a purplish color? why do i see some blue ray pics blue and some purple?
i really know nothing about blue's except theyre hard to make and expensive. infact i dont know much about reds either. lol i only have knowledge in green lasers.

mikeeey,
Like Hemlock Mike says "green is for show..red is for burning. I yield to the Herc"..... ;D

And its true. You can build your own red 150mw laser for less than 50 bucks. Same with a blu-ray but it will only be about 7mw's. I know you don't keep up with reds but I think you are missing out unless there is some reason you don't like the color. I ran an open can diode at 350mw's. It didn't last long so I got another one and am running it at 250mw's. But this is with a TEC. If you ever have an interest you can get all the parts from SenKat. This would get you started and I think you would be very impressed by the burning power of the diodes he sells. You would need goggles...so you need to add that to the expense.

BTW, the Tilt is a nice phone. I love my Verizon VX6600 PPC. It is serving me well and I really like the big screen of 3.5 inches. I have been playing some SNES and GBA games on it....lol

what would u say is the burning difference between a green 100mW and a red 100mW. is it a lot? i sure like a laser that burns but i love the color green for a laser. its very unusual and unique. it would amaze everyone.
that soudns cool that i can get the parts from him but im sure if I were to build it it wouldnt be very portible. i dont like lab lasers, i like it to fit in my pocket.

6600 you say? too bad u couldnt of had the 6700, 416mhz Xscale processor, great for overclocking, great for games. are you running gba at a playable speed?
have you heard of the forum www.modaco.com? if not you should go there, there's a lot of cool stuff for pocket pc and smartphone, like finalburn. it's an emulator that runs MAME and NEOGEO. and im not talking the old crappy stuff, im talking games like this:

yea thats  the main forum im usually on, i love hacking my pocket pc and getting cool stuff on it. check out these 2 videos i got of some of the game ports i have on it:
wolfenstein + SOD, duke nukem, quake, quake 2.

ill also shoot a video of warcraft II (yes, the full and real thing) and some other emulators next time i get a chance.

It isn't difficult to build a red laser that will fit in your pocket. A 100mw red will burn as good as a 100mw green. It does depend on what you are burning as the colors are different. For example, I have not been able to light a white headed match with my X105...however a red will light it putting out the same amount of power. Personally I like the color of a red laser better than a green. But the green is so much brighter and I have no regrets with my X105.

You are getting awesome frame rates. I will have to give it a try..thanks for the link. I heard the 6700 was good for games. I wonder how the 6800 would be? From what I have read they are now using dual core processors in these...one runs the phone and the other runs the software.

The GBA games are slow. However I played Zelda:The Minish Cap.and it wasn't bad. The SNES emulation of Soul Blazer was much better. I see the pic of Metal Slug...lol. Good game... :) I will definitely have to give it a try.

yea thats what i REALLY like about the green lasers, much brighter. so basicly its not the red laser that burns better, but the object the red laser burns, compared to a green? cuz from what u just said it makes it sound like a green is about the same as a red, even tho u also said a red is better for burning.

actually i can almost confirm the 6800 is worse, until there are video drivers atleast, ive sent u a message explaining it better, but yes, 1 core powers the phone and the other core powers the system.

Well another good reason the red is better for burning is because it is much cheaper too than greens. You can't get a 150mw green laser for less than 50 bucks. I don't want to twist your arm..lol...but I really believe you would be very impressed with a red. At night the beam is very visible even at only 150mw's or so. Plus the reds we are building do have the advantage of being able to focus. The only advantage to a green laser given the same mw's as a red is it's brightness.

I will get back to your PM. Thanks a bunch.. :)
