kids can only see dolphins.... but i see more :yabbmad:

I believe it supposed to be which way you see her spinning the first time you look at her.
Like most of you i too can reverse the direction she appears to be spinning, but she
always starts anit-clockwise for me.

So which way is she actually spinning? ;)

:)

I think clockwise but the only way to know for sure is to ask the person who made that animation. Unfortunately we don't know who. It's just one of those gifs on the internet ... I've seen that one in many places, can't tell where it came from

I saw dolphins in the second one but I had to look a bit. The first pic...the one with the jar, is that made of dolphins? I don't see any >.<

EDIT: In the first pic, I see the dolphins now. I thought they made up the light space, but they actually make up the dark space. HA! That's clever ;)

No matter how hard I try I can never make her go the other way (anti-clockwise), not even looking at the shadow nor playing with the gif on Opera.

Oh Crazy Jay, did the wink not give away my playfullness?! :D Just teasing with the rhetorical Q. Sorry, I couldn't help it.

BTW She goes both ways for me... if you know what I mean!!! Wahey! ;)

Here's an animation I made to help determine the positioning and orientation for each spin

As you can see if she was turning counterclockwise she would have to be on an angled axis

EDIT: Based on looking at this animation frame by frame I have determined that the image is rotating clockwise. I had to do extra work to make it rotate counter clockwise. I had to choose the frames within the animation to show what it would look like going the other way.

Good animation but I can make the diagram on the right spin either way too! :na:

I didn't make it spin. I copied and pasted where the foot begins and ends thats all.

The order of frames are in the same sequence.

You have too much time on your hands but a good result. I'm gonna believe your hypothesis simply because you put so much effort into proving it!

Good job.

Next....
