The Most Provocative Photo Thread. Warning, graphic content.

The purpose of this thread is not to replicate rotten.com. I believe that it's purpose is to show, through the power of photography, just how the world is. And sometimes that truth is not pretty.

Not rippin on you, just trying to enlighten.

I think you hit it on the head. There are some pics that when you see them it has an impact, they either make you feel sad or make you laugh but still touch you in some way.

What this country used to be like.

Some that are suposed to have an effect on me don't and some do. It just depends on what it is.

What's this one about Dave?

That is a picture of Roger Bannister breaking the tape on the world's first sub four minute mile run. At the time is was as frightening as breaking the sound barrier was. Reputable scientists had "proven" that the human body couldn't take the stress of running that fast :tinfoil: LOL!

Roger Bannister - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is this guy, the first to run 1 mile in less than 4 minutes.
I do not find it particularly disturbing?

I thought the thread was about "provocative" pictures NOT "disturbing" pictures.
That picture provokes the realization that we may be only limited by what we believe, not by physical "laws."

It is also a moment that changed the world

Peace,
dave

I guess getting outside once in a while is good for those scientists. I heard that they were afraid of peoples skin flying off while doing 40 mph in a car.

It's Roger Bannister. First sub-four minute mile.

EDIT: lol, beaten twice

Thanks anyway though aXit ;)
