Hmmm...I was confused at the start as well, no way to sign in through google+, facebook etc. So this is how I proceeded:

When the app launched the 1st time I clicked on Browse forums on the bottom.
Next screen offered me different forums, but I wanted lpf.com, so I typed laserpointerforums in the top right search box. A screen with laser pointer forums website as an option comes up, however no more facebook option appears there! So I clicked on the lpf.com option and proceeded the way I mentioned above:

three bars on the left to orange tapatalk timeline icon - join or sign in and you're in.

Dunno how else to describe it. Someone else could elaborate on logging in?
 
^^ yeah that's what I did, I installed, launched, searched for laserpointerforums, it came up, I clicked on it, click on the 3 bars, and the above screenshot is what I get.
 
Just thinking there... I'm on android Kit Kat, but have no facebook installed on the phone. Perhaps that's way I didn't get the facebook option only:thinking:.

The Join option can't be changed at all? Like I mentioned before, I haven't used tapatalk before at all, i.e. not connected to other website using this app on the cellphone.

^^ nope, when I click sign in, it gives me the option to sign in only with FB.
 
It might be an android version and/or specific Android settings cellphone issue then? I'm no super advanced user myself. Literally just downloaded tapatalk from the Play store to see how it works with lpf.com and seems to be grand for now.

Which version of Android are you using, because the latest version on Google Play says that it requires 4.0 and up?
 
Its a ST27i on 4.1.2

Tried uninstalling, re installing...I don't get it :confused:

Edit, installed on my 7" tab and underneath "Login with Facebook" there is "use another email" , I can log in from there, but on my phone that option isn't there...what hell?

EDIT from PC:

Seems to work for me, I was able to login with my LPF ID and post. I get quite a different looking interface from what others have though.

I am running it on an old HTC Desire with android 2.3 though, so it is possible I am unable to get the latest version. Still works fine though.

That's the same problem I had. After it made me a new account I saw the option to edit my login profile.
