Switching Driver for 445nm / 405nm

Ok Wolfman this time I used good ole paper and pencil. The number are real close to my off the head in post #12.

In/ Out
5.5v/507mA.... 4.43v/570mA
6.5v/906mA.... 5.09v/994mA
7.5v/808mA.... 4.93v/972mA
8.4v/688mA.... 4.92v/974mA
9.0v/644mA.... 4.93v/976mA

I doubled checked everything. It produced no heat whatsoever. I was using the 6 diode setting on pyros testboard. I'm not endorsing these I just like the fact they don't get really hot. They seem to share the same chip as your Blitz it hard to say as it looks like they rubbed off any ID on it. Have a good day.

So it looks like they're efficiency is around 83% at 8.4Vin. Not bad. However, it's usually hard to tell what the IC is just from the shape ;)

Mind taking a picture of both sides of the board?

Sorry for the quality phone camera EVO 4G.

THAT'S why this is so huge :P It runs at a really low frequency, so it requires a REALLY high inductance (33uH). High inductance means low current saturation, which in turn means you need a bigger inductor to be able to handle the current. So... it ends up big =p

It's not that big...lol the thing I don't prefer is how the orientation is for the input pads for some reason all the Chinese drivers I've seen do the host positive thing. Wonder why?

It's... pretty big. Won't fit in any single-18650 or dual 16340 hosts.

And as for the case positive thing... probably has to do with keeping compatibility with all of the DPSS systems.

I'm certain I could shoehorn that driver in to an 18650 build. Being its a buck driver I would have to use 2 15270 in a holder or 2 CR2.

AS far as the DPSS I agree. Good night wolfman its been fun and thanks for your work here in the forum I respect you. I would rep you but the system says no. I'll get you later.

Pretty good result. Thanks for the info. Just brought a 1200mA broad for my M140 build. jander can you tell me how does the "visible soft start" perform?

Best I can tell it just lowers the current for a second or 2... I could'nt even get a reading it happened so fast. Maybe it would be different if a diode was in there I dunno.

Wolfman took them out! Might be a web hosting problem... Interesting. Keep an eye on them for the next few days.

My drivers were marked shipped. Will be interesting to see if I have to file a dispute.
