"the aging copper cables" That doesn't quite make sense to me. In my street, the cables are over 70 years old and provide me with 10+Mbps and never drop out. But even with such speed CAPABILITIES, you will not download from a normal server at that speed. Servers throttle data transfer to a max so they don't ddos themselves by letting their servers run over 100% of what theyre capable of. If you have say 1000 people downloading at 100+ Mbps a even medium sized server cant handle that (100,000 Mbps)
