Since I have built more handheld lasers with the new M140 diode I have compared this 460 side by side with them and I can't tell much of a difference as I could with the Helios build I bought you (RHD) built....I am wondering if this is just another crasio diode that was hand selected for color. Not that that's a problem, I am still pleased with the deal I made. Know there is the potential for a lot of variance between these diodes and I wouldn't be surprised of that's the case. In fact, I would be surprised if that isn't what's going on.

Almost every M140 diode I've tested has been 452nm. As you say, it will be interesting to find out what these are.
 
I'm looking forward to the spectro tests. I opened one of these up and sure enough, the diode has the same red pin separator as found in the projectors. I guess there is that possibility that new projector diodes have a longer wavelength than the older ones like heruur said.

Almost every new projector diode I've come across recently, has been 450 to 452nm. In fact, they've mostly been dead on 451 or 452. They've been remarkably consistent. Of the 20+ M140 and M240 diodes that I've tested so far (from at least 3 sources), there hasn't been a single diode to fall outside of the 450-452 range.

Having said that, the difference between even 445 and 452 is really visually obvious, so I would imagine that this will look substantially different at 460.
 
whoo-hoo! i finally have a 473, thanks styro. can't wait to see it next to my 488.
 
I would like to know if anything and what is available now styro.
Also I live in Ireland.
