SOLD OUT - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

Apologies for the double post...

3 units left for those interested

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

I think the splash issue is related to the characteristics of LD and lower input powers. On a 1.5V lithium, when running at full power, there is a lot of splash around the main diode beam profile, which should be a nice multi-mode rectangle. when i run it low, same thing, but when i run it on med with the 5kHz pulse, it gives more of what I would expect from a 445 LD in terms of beam profile - tight with little splash. Are you also running different currents to the diode in the different modes, as well as pulse rates?

I am sure it will be fine with the 10440... but they are shipping to me right now so it will be a week or so before I can determine anything more.

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

The only mode you should use with a 1.5v cell is the low setting which is a 5khz pulse
mode. The brightness will not increase in the higher modes at that voltage as the battery
cannot keep up with the demand for current and voltage..

Im afraid you are stuck at 30-50mW until a 10440 is used.. The higher modes will
just drain out the battery faster as it struggles to keep up..

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

Thanks wannaburn. I know about the limitations on a 1.5V cell but I am a curious fellow. For now... 5khz pulse. Any idea where I can get 10440 in Toronto?? Active Surplus has none.

One thing I will say about your design is that it looks and feels great! Like you i love the look and feel of stainless. and this design also has decent heft to it. The module still has a decent thick wall. But I dont think this laser is really design for long duty cycles, its more about getting a lot of laser power in a small (very small... smallest?) host. can't wait for the 10440s!!!

If it were a single mode, going beyond 4-500mW would be a stretch. The demand on the battery is just too much.

As posted somewhere on page 1, these are meant for daily lower power use without the hazards of class 4.
When you want to see some power, just switch modes and away you go..

Since I was 15, I have always had a laser in my pocket... For the most part, 5mW and usually pens.

These little guys fit snug in that tiny pocket in most blue jeans meant for a lighter..
The kicker is, they can output a ridiculous amount of power when you want it..

I dont carry around larger lasers, and even avoid longer pens, as they are still too big
for my liking... Hence the birth of these super small lasers with a twist.

As for mW vs size, I haven't seen anything this small and even close to this power.
Surprisingly enough, when you run these with a 10440, they dont heat
up as much as you may think...

Getting 10440's locally, I couldn't tell you.. I have even asked at Johns Photo and Hobby
if you know them, they carry a lot of stuff, but no Li-ions...

The last batch I ordered were 90% crap and wouldn't take a charge. I would have liked
to include at least one per laser, but am completely out for the time being..

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

I have larger lasers. My best 445 is in the Aurora SH SS host with the flaminpyro copper HS and a flexdrive. its doing 1.2W and works very well. The other is in the same host, 405 @ 600mW with the jayrob copper HS, also nice. They are small but I absolutely appreciate smaller. Your design is truly amazing and the added pulsed modes are icing on the cake. You have to accept that such a small host is not going to be able to dissipate heat as well as a larger host. I would venture to guess that the issue would be more with driver heat dissipation and battery load than the LD heat build up.

I will take a pic of the wannaburn SS with an Arctic - the size difference is astounding.

I think we need to find a name for your little laser. how about the wannaburn LL for Little Laser. SSLL. Stainless Steel Little Laser.

I totally agree, a larger host will dissipate the heat faster, but again, its meant for small
'bursts' when used at high power..

The driver barely gets warm, its the LD that will heat up, but if high power is only used
for short durations even that doesnt appear to be an issue..

LOL, I would like to see pics of this beside an arctic... Must be quite the difference :D

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

Hey wannaburn...

how about a 2.1 Watt LaserBee I-X in exchange for one
of your remaining lasers...

Jerry

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

These are great little lasers!
I love to see more of the micro host like this, I think that my 10440 build is one of my favorites!
Great sale and nice job wannaburn:gj: I'm sure the others will sell pretty quick.

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

Do these just use the stock driver? I noticed when i trying to make a red out of this host that it has a boost driver already in it (weird two pcb driver)

How about sure :D You know what they say, the more LaserBee LPM's
on the bench, the better...

Thanks  Whoever said 'the bigger the better' must have been a woman ;)

Without getting into detail, I can say, yes and no

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

Another name for this little beauty could be "THE DECEIVER".
Tried to +1 you but I must have already done that. Sorry.

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

I would like to order 1. What is your PayPal email address?

Re: FOR SALE - Smallest / Most Powerfull 445nm Pens

I'd like one of the last ones. PM sent.
