Whether we like it or not, SOMEBODY MUST police the boards. Neither c0ld or Rev can be here all the time nor read all the posts. If policing the boards was the only purpose MFO served (I don't agree that it is), then it would be a good service to the board. May I remind y'all that this purpose being served by MFO is one that most of the members here avoid.

My point is that rather than looking to see if MFO is being paranoid or not (is Slipstream in fact Arenared?), people are attacking him for his beliefs and technique.

I challenge ANYONE here to do a better or more tactful job of policing the boards. If you don't like the way MFO does it, do it yourselves. It MUST be done.

Y'all complain that there is too much drama in the boards and then attack the person trying to keep the people that have been proven to create drama out of the boards. Y'all can't have it both ways.

Maybe MFO is wrong, maybe MFO is right, however, if rattling a few chains is what it takes, then rattle away.

If mfo has such a noble cause in mind as being "the person trying to keep the people that have been proven to create drama out of the boards" then he should keep himself out of the boards, since he has been one of the people creating most drama over the past couple of months.

Sure we need someone to "police" the forum, but we don't need people to pick personal fights and subsequently attempting to get the opposing part banned, while drawing hasty conclusions from thin evidence. That has nothing to do with the greater good of the forum.

If the "job" is to fight with other members and then try to get them banned, no I do not think it is necessary.
There have been several other cases of discussing a member and compiling facts about them which have been necessary since the member in question was in fact causing trouble, but this is not one of them, and as far as I remember mfo has not taken part in compiling the information in any of the necessary ones.

What you appear to think is that, if I want to be able to criticise mfo for his personal vendetta against anyone who disagrees with him, I first have to try to get someone I don't like banned..

Also, I do not believe this is fighting.

Those IP and hosts are too far separated to start accusing people.

How do you figure Ben? They are both tied into the LA area. Anyone can change their IP address.

So are you suggesting Arenared moved to another part of town just to come back here? I find that highly unlikely.
Arenared and his IP's were permabanned when he came back from his 3 month ban due to sneaking in and harassing from other accounts during his ban. Slipstream has been here during that period, seemingly completely unaffected by the bans.

If it is Arena sneaking back in, he is making one hell of a good job blurring any evidence.. and doing something which requires above minimal brain function does not sound like Arena.

Are you sure you aren't letting personal issues with Slipstream make you draw more conclusions than you should?

I don't know how ISP's work in Europe, but here in the US, it's easy to change your IP. With DSL, simply turn off your modem, turn it back on. With a cable modem it's a bit more complex, but still easily done.

If cold has banned you, that don't mean you can take it upon yourself to just come back and be all nice. That makes you a deceiving person, which is also grounds for a ban imo. If you're willing to lie about your identity, then where will you draw the line?

I think Dave is right. While mfo may piss some of you off and may be letting personal feelings show in his posts he is trying to protect the interest of the forum by trying to keep trash out. I appreciate what you do mfo and after the PM's I saw this guy doesnt deserve to be here and doesnt seem capable of carrying out a smooth transaction. (IMHO)

He is not a Judge he is a member with some information and a theory...
He has absolutely no powers to ban anyone...
He is bringing his findings to the Forum and WE the Forum either agree or
disagree with the findings... hopefully with proof of either side...

To find fault of the person who brought the findings to the Table is
quite petty... IMO
