Hi Everyone,

Found tis host ,nice small side clicky, so i modded the driver as a contact board with the screw in pill. Also hand fitted the CU washer to take up the slack for the sink to ground to the pill.
Inside is ::
1) NDB7875/9MM Diode.. Took off the lens that was on it. Not a G9 to DTR's observation sorry folks oops!! Thank You Jordan :)
2) X Drive set to 2.4A Bridged for second range.
3) G2 Lens
4) 2-18350 Efest Cells

I have the lens soaking in Acetone to loosen the glue for prepping into a lens barrel. Will compare later with the G2 and 3 element.

Enjoy folks..
Rich:)

Very nice build. Sorry to say those are not G-9 lenses though. That is a diode out of a different projector than the BenQ's which are not made anymore that had the G-9 lenses. It is a smaller lens think like 5.9mm instead of 6.3mm which the G-9 is. Not sure about the pass and focus on the lens though.

Here is how the G-9 lens looked.

Hi Jordan,
I noticed that when i took it out of the setting. The setting that was in it had four H shaped prong attached to it. I put it in e barrel and tested it out put was 2600mA. compared to the g2 . I will edit my thread , the host is nice side fire thats what caught my eye. Thank you for intervening for a more precise conclusion to this. AnY time buddy.

Lifetime- great build!! I really like the host as well, I was thinking of buying one but was hesitant not knowing the quality of the side fire switch. Looks great though, I always enjoy your build threads!! I love my 7875 and was thinking of buying another one soon.

DTR - do you know what type of lens that is? I recently purchased a 7875 from techhood with the identical lens as lifetime. Even techhood said the lens was called a g9. Do you know when/if you will be getting more g9s in?

Hi,
This is the LPM test and beam shots , this diode turned out not that efficient as thought. It dropped off to 2600+mW's leveled. But its ok, for the size of the sink is rather small for this 9MM ..

Hi Calikirk,
No its not a G9 Jordan set the thread straight for me the setting that its in is way different from the G9's i bought from Jordan and the results to.. I'm going to pull the diode and test is out of the build on the PSU later togged the correct spec on these diodes, so hold off till i get the results. These are not jordans diodes clear that up. They are from Techood had them sitting for a while till now. PSU testing doesn't lie about a diodes efficiency before going into a build. i took it for granted that they're indeed better we will see tonight .
Oh yes as CK said when will you get more G9 in Jordan?? As i said the setting that the lens sits in is totally different than DTRs G9's i added a pic to compare..

Rich:)

Yea have not had a chance to play with the lenses I have here. I got a few samples as they were good cost but think they may not even be 7875 diodes as they all were very inefficient compared to the 7875's out of the BenQ's or the mitsu light cores. The windows were also dirty which made me think they were used diodes and the lens did not fit in my regular lens barrels being smaller so I just gave up on them.

Is it possible that the diodes we bought aren't an actual 7875? Seeing as the lenses are different. And also my 7875 max output with g2 was 2.74w at 2.4a. it seems that compared to other 7875 builds that either both lifetime and I got inefficient diodes or they aren't what they were advertised?

Yea the ones of those I got were quite inefficient as well. I did not get them from Techhood so not necessarily an issue with a specific seller but more of a main source that just assumed what they were when pulling them out of what I beleive is used equipment.

Either way the diode i received is by far one of my favorites. All of the characteristics are the same as a 7875 diode, well as far as I can tell. The only thing different is how low the output is at 2.4a setting, and the lens

Hi,
The divergence with a 3 element forms a nice dot though. And yes the out puts aren't the same as the other 7875's for sure. The price was nice but hey all live and learn don't we. Like i said I'm pulling it out tonight for a PSU testing we will see if its lives or dies at a2.4A setting i'll data log it at 60 seconds also and load the pics.

I'm using a g7 currently and im very happy with the divergence. I got myne for $37 with included lens so whatever the diode ends up being I still feel like it was a great buy.

Thanks for doing the tests lifetime, I'll stay tuned for your results.

Edit: I also got myne from techhood, the lens holder is identical to yours.

You have to look hard at thier posts (techhood/existotem) they sell a 7875 that's "refurbished" that's $35

While I didn't find the o rigional post for the refurbished diode, I found two new ones this one and one for a nbd7775
EBay item# 141945140127
Not sure how you refurbish a diode either
Under condition it says "manufacture refurbished"

Hi VV, And Calikirk,
They might be from heavily used machines, not refurbished . yes both diodes are different indeed just look at the lens harness the two are in.Cali the one you bought maybe closer to jordans but should be tested also for efficiency..

Rich- I think my camera isn't showing it well, but mine is identical to yours, has 4 prongs.

Unfortunately my LPM needs to be calibrated and testing is out of the picture untill I can get another LPM.. I'm very curious about the lens though, I have it waiting to be set but haven't gotten around to it.
