The laser looks impressive for 50mW. It must be very misty at your place.

It was a bit mistier earlier, it's below freezing now so it shouldn't be in the air much longer.

Wow, that gas station IS close to you Zraffle. Did you ever do that thing with the guy who works there to measure your dot on whichever laser you were going to do that with?

Btw, Sweet beam-shot! You should really get a misty comparison between 532 and 520.

I never actually did, I'll have to do that soon.

I tried comparing 532nm and 520nm, none of my five cameras spot a difference at all sadly.

Edit: somehow even foggier than before, going back outside

blord i have to ask where you got that focus adapter for your 532nm? i'm waiting on a module and have a build just like it planned.

You mean the 5x beam expander adapter ? I bought it at Jetlasers. It fits the PL host from Skylaser just fine.

no i'm talking about on your C6 532nm laser at the end it looks like you have a focus adapter or something rather then the bare end of the moduel.

sorry about side tracking your review!

More beamshots added to the OP.
I was waiting for a misty night to make the beams more clearly. :)

Ha Blord, Nice added picture's, thanks for those :)

It's a bit foggy here aswell :D

thank you thank you

From the information gathered by the murder test of the Osram PL520 diode I decided to change the output.
I took the plunge and pot mod the $500 PL520 laser. :)
The diode is rated for 50mW but can be pushed up to 100-120mW.
The pot is below the button and behind the sticker. I carefully removed the sticker until the hole come visible and with a small screwdriver I turn the pot counter-clockwise until the output is >100mW.

The PL host has absolutely no problem with this new setting. The output is rockstable and only time will tell how long the diode will last.
And rememeber potmod on your own risk ! :thanks:

Awesome blord! You just gotta love the pot on these 520 and 460 lasers! This means it can also be done on other 520 lasers (not the 515 model)

Awesome
