Hey Jerry, I totally agree and will sign the petition.
On a similar subject and not to be inflammatory but some in the US are not that far from similar levels of bigotry. Koran burning? Is that really going to help anyone?

The right of free speech does not pertain to only pleasant or nice speech.
Offensive speech is still protected speech

I don't think its our place to tell outsiders how to run their way of life, especially when they do not agree with ours. we can not pick and choose what side of sharia law we agree with. Especially for non-muslims.
Idk I'd fully support stoning of child molesters, mothers who strangle their children, serial killers/rapists and other degenerates:beer:Tell that to the girl that got her skull bashed in repeatedly because of a punishment(not the law she broke) that defies the most basic human rights. Try to imagine the fear and anguish she felt. If you did can you really say that kind of sentence is not barbaric for any crime(if there even was one).

Just for the record, the pastor decided not to burn the books.
Perhaps he felt there would be more support than there was,
being the 11th and all..
On September 8, 2010, Ramin Mehmanparast, a spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, confirmed that the government had suspended the stoning sentence. He said that officials were still moving forward with sentencing her for her role in the killing of her husband. Ashtiani still faces a prison term or execution by hanging for the charges outstanding against her. Mehmanparast further stated that she was guilty of both adultery and murder and that her case was undeserving of the international attention it had drawn. He said that releasing "murderers" should not be made into a human rights issue and called on countries criticising Iran to release all their murderers as well.
