I have to agree with Dave.

I may not agree with burning a Koran and it definitely does not help build any bridges but I would fight and die for their right to do it. And I do have to say that you can't even compare burning a BOOK(paper and ink symbolism aside) with stoning(throwing rocks at her till her skull caves in and she dies of blunt trauma) a woman to death. Or anyone for that matter even a murderer sentenced to death. It is cruel an inhumane.

I don't think its our place to tell outsiders how to run their way of life, especially when they do not agree with ours. we can not pick and choose what side of sharia law we agree with. Especially for non-muslims.

Tell that to the girl that got her skull bashed in repeatedly because of a punishment(not the law she broke) that defies the most basic human rights. Try to imagine the fear and anguish she felt. If you did can you really say that kind of sentence is not barbaric for any crime(if there even was one).

And as far as burning the Koran goes how many bibles do you think get burned in Muslim countries every day in demonstrations. You don't see Catholics getting all worked up about it. I also believe they have the right to express their views as well as long as it is non violent and does not impede someone else's right to expression.

I also feel that those people are despicable and not worthy of my pity about what happens to them. But beyond making sure they never have the opportunity to do it to anyone else eye for an eye only serves to degrade the morality that we seek.

I am for the death penalty but not for the reason of revenge. But when the only way to ensure the safety of the community when there is no hope of rehabilitation.

When people begin to believe that a THING is more important than ideas and/or people, something is VERY wrong with the belief system that supports that view.

What exactly is signing this petition going to potentially lead to down the road? I really don't get it.

And why this women? This probably happens all the time in the middle east, this one just happened to be caught on tape. Is this a stand for her or for all that have suffered similar brutality?

What I find really funny about all this as a Muslim is that burning a Qur'an is actually the correct way of disposing of a damaged/unwanted copy. I don't think there was ever any doubt that it is within his rights of freedom of speech/expression to do what he had suggested, but maybe sometimes a little common sense could come into play. We don't always have to do things that were are technically allowed to. I mean I may have the right to march around today on 9/11 with an Al Qaeda flag (OBVIOUSLY I do not support them, just an example here) and troll people, but I would never do this out of respect for myself and others around me. Looks he called it off after all, so he came to his senses, maybe he'll actually read one of those Qur'ans how instead of burning them .
