Successfully made 2W 425nm !. i will upload my violet laser build If it does not die after 2 months
It's too hot and the battery consumption is very high.

Do you have LPM, and where do you base the wavelength, I am curious that, with a 2w output, you have set the driver at 1.6A, the diode will not exist after 1 hour
i mean 1 hour run
anyway,it is good build and i want to see picture man

Thank you for your advice. I think ... Sharp diode output is random. Lifetime output wavelength... All . if it dead someday. I want change violet to Watt green.

Good fun. MIght be able to last a bit if using a driver with a slow rising start. Lazeerer made some drivers for pushing the single mode 405's back in the day. On the wavelength If I remember correctly It seemed whenever I would see testing of the BDR-209's and BDR-S06J's they were reporting 410nm-415nm probably higher than 405nm due to the way we push them but they could also be rated higher than 405nm since we never had any real datasheets on them. 425nm though that is crazy. Did you spectro it?

EDIT
On that subject here is a great little blast from the past. Seems even back when they were pulling them out of PS3's the 410nm+ wavlenghte were being noted.

i have one more sharp multi violet laser build. It has different colors
410nm ~ 414nm 1.5w pen and 425nm 2w .
2w output 425nm laser is brighter than PL520B 160mw
Sharp diode is random.. just like Lottery ticket :giggle:
Well... I want to win the lottery ticket. :coffee:

I'm getting 1.505w with my diode from that gb while back. Got a flex drive hooked up to it. I wonder what wavelength it's outputting? It doesn't generate that much heat either. In fact the driver gets hotter quicker than the actual diode itself.

While it is true that the wavelength will vary to some extent, 425nm is well outside what you should expect. Maybe as high as 415nm, but I doubt any higher.

i use this driver. not a good driver.
Also my lasers are light purple and close to blue
Very unstable current setting ..
i said.. if it die. i want change violet laser to green Watt laser

I changed the driver boost to 1.6A buck driver now!
I don't mind if this dies. If it do not die, my luck is good.
2w violet... good

So far my build is still running fine. With a copper heatsink I'm sure it's running better because of that. 1.6W is crazy powerful for 405. It's amazing

Looks good! Are you still using real short run times? Have fun. Be safe!

425nm 2w and 412nm 1.5w
Didn't read entire thread but how do you know that it is 425nm and not 424? (I dont think this high. Just as Paul said). Do you have spectroneter? My BDR build is maybe higher wavelength too but I don't have spectrometer so i call it 405nm. Measuring wavelength with eyes is like measuring power of laser depending on how well can it burn tape. Just this otherwise I like your builds 2W have to be awesome!
