I was looking last night at a YouTube video taken last year-- I counted 17 projectors all running the same beamshow- and FIY that was only the ones in the auditorium- across the parking lot in the big cafeteria and another complete set-up had almost as many-
what a great 'problem' to have-- TOO MANY laser projectors to squeeze all in one place.
At the SELEM2012 thread over at the other forum you can get links and after you view the video more related links at youtube are shown -- damn impressive even with our less-than professional videoing skillz and the very poor audio these vid cameras capture.
MUST BE SEEN IN PERSON..
At SELEM you not only get to see lasershows done on PJs, some costing more than $10,000 each- you can watch and video from every angle (watch out for killing pixels tho!!!) and meet the owners- ask lots of questions and become a real lasershow 'roadie' for a weekend-
Many come early (like Thurs. morning) and help these generous guys set up the shows & gear and many stay late on Sunday to assist in the take down and load out.
My first year I got their kinda late (drove 17 hrs solo) and helped just a little with the tear down. And I felt a little guilt then about doing what is right at SELEM.. REALLY for what we pay to attend--$40 ..
we get so much more than one could/would expect.
(we pay $60 but get a priceless shirt to wear when doing lasers and at the next years LEM (or any other LEM.)
WE sometimes forget the 'dues' other have paid with lasershows and shared knowledge-- we *think* we know members via the forums BUT until you meet them and put faces on those usernames you really dont KNOW them.
I was bitten by the LEM bug in 2010- and just ~3 months later I hosted a mini LEM here in Texas-- small turnout but a HUGE success in my mind. Two 'Pros' I did not 'really' know before SELEM give of themselves much more than i expected- they entertained me and a dozen friends with their projectors until 4 in the morning. I can never thank Platinum (Jonathon) nor Adam (300Evil * his dad) too much for doing that.
So if you want an experience you will never forget COME TO SELEM..
join the other forum just for the LEMs
( you can't see the pics or vids when JUST lurking)-- Even without a lot of extra cash to spend on it there are many ways to keep the overall cost down-- for a taste go to youtube and search SELEM- LEM- and you will be impressed.
To see the list of those who attended past events you can look at old threads and posts.

early planning is one key to success and putting off this is only going to keep you from attending..MAKE THE COMMITMENT!!-- step one.. is to send your shirt size and the attendee fee- then work on your transportation- once you have those lined up the rest wil be EASY!!
PM me with your Qs-- hak
