Sci-Fi Lasers TheJoker301 Does Not Tell the Truth to Customers or Uphold His Claims

No. I fixed that. But today, I turned it on after just a couple days since last using it and I noticed that it was much dimmer than usual. I can't even see the beam unless I'm in a dark room with the lights turned off. Even then, I can just barely see it. It can no longer burn anything. I thought maybe the batteries were low, even though it worked perfectly the last time I used it. But I charged the batteries up today and tried again and got the same results. I don't know anything about electronics, but I fear something is fried. I don't know how that could happen though. I made sure to stay within the duty cycle limits. I was very conservative about that. But just 10 days after getting it, it's pretty much toast. I wouldn't know the first thing about what to look for when it comes to fixing it either. Eitan offered a 6 month warranty on it. But how can I take advantage of that if he's put out of business?
LED open a new thread on how maby to fix this if you haven't already. You know all members will come to help:)

The Photonist, well with only 9 posts are we sure this isn't the joker, can a moderator look into this please...

Driver, well with only 6 posts are we sure this isn't the joker, can a moderator look into this please...

and if your not the joker what planet are you from if you really believe that

Vortish, Please bud don't be sick because what this thread is doing is opening peoples eyes as to what is going on, be happy ;)

LEDbeam, tell you what I will do as I have done this before for the very same reasons, I will repair your laser for free all you have to do is send it to me and pay for any parts my labor will be free to you or any one else in the very same boat as you :D

Joker sounds like maybe you scammed your last person at LPF I don't know but there is some pretty damming evidence stacking up against you and you have not defended your self against the claim you offered something and then did not deliver, if a man can not be counted on to keep his word then what can he be counted on for

And then to go so far as to send out false tracking numbers more than once, once could be a mistake but I do believe 3 or more people here said they received that from you, would you like to comment on that ?

I think it would be a good idea for you to defend your self if you are in deed innocent of what people are saying about you, that is if you care to keep doing business here as there have been many scammers in the past I know as I have helped get them removed from this forum, we have no room for people who will not follow through on what they say they will do in a timely manner, this hobbie is hard enough to keep going with the stupid people pointing lasers at aircraft we certainly don't need people who lie to customers so you better get on the stand and defend your self if it's possible

Pyro...

Got his email while I was asleep and ask for pics. He got warranty and he will get it fixed or a new module. This is not a problem. I am not a scammer. Never did and never will. I always stand behind my customers.

Re: Just bought three lasers from Sci-Fi

I would get a refund, asap!

Re: Just bought three lasers from Sci-Fi

I'd prefer if I was just refunded at this point. If the lasers actually have shipped and get to me I'll send the money back. I have no intention of scamming anybody.

Re: Just bought three lasers from Sci-Fi

I just don't like this situation at all. On one side I feel bad for joker as he seems to have too much on his plate, but I feel a lot worse for all you guys that have to deal with this stuff as his customers. I still don't know if it's worth the mob that seems to be forming, but I'd like to see other sponsorship besides Sci-Fi's on the site until he gets his sh*t together. I know it's a lot to ask of the admins, but going through the sponsored links (some are dead) and getting new, more reputable sponsors other than Sci-Fi would be great.

Re: Unhappy with Sci-Fi Lasers - Being Resolved

UPDATE - I was out of town for two weeks and he supposedly sent me EMS tracking, but still no laser and the tracking number doesn't work.

3/29 - sent me picture of label
4/5 - tracking still doesn't work
4/6 - sent me new picture of new label
4/11 - tracking still doesn't work

If I don't have it by end of week, at least with valid tracking and shipping to me NOT someone else, I'm opening a paypal dispute.

Re: Unhappy with Sci-Fi Lasers - NOT being resolved

Looks like I missed a lot of drama while I was gone.

Re: Unhappy with Sci-Fi Lasers

Thanks for clarify thing. Glad to see that you can resolve the problem properly.

Brought from lazerer once in the past. Their customer email supposed to be quick. Try email them with other email domain chance your email went to their junk box.

I did reach out to them through paypal and they did say my emails started going to their junk folder for some reason. Max forgot to change my status to pending or something over a month ago so they never started working it. However, that was on 3/28 the last I heard from them. They promised to get it shipped asap but so far haven't. I sent them another note there to see if they've shipped it. So far I'll chalk this one up to communications errors.

Most definitely... there was a lot more too, but that got deleted by moderators for getting out of hand.

Do you have a account on their website? Try to see if any update there.

Re: Unhappy with Sci-Fi Lasers - Being Resolved

If I don't have it by end of week, at least with valid tracking and shipping to me NOT someone else, I'm opening a paypal dispute.

You are absolutely crazy not to have done so already.

Opening a dispute makes it hard for the seller to withdraw funds from their paypal account.

If you wait this long though, the seller can easily withdraw the funds to their bank account and move funds from that account to another. Once that's done, you're out of luck UNLESS the seller still has some funds left in the account.

So please, protect yourself. Open the dispute now.

It won't do anything for two weeks anyway. After that you can escalate to a claim. Even after you escalate to a claim the seller will usually claim to have send a package, and given that in this case the seller has to qualms whatsoever about sending fake tracking numbers, it will take another 1-2 weeks for you to get a refund. That is assuming there are still enough funds in the paypal account, and/or funds in the account linker to sellers account.

Also whatever you do, do not close the dispute, do not forget to escalate it to a claim, and do not under any circumstances cancel either, claim or dispute, until you have your order.

This goes for ALL online orders. It's business. Not personal. A responsible business owner will have zero issues with this approach.

Edit: Same goes for your Lazerer order. Worst case you get your money back. With the amount of time a Paypal dispute takes, it's enough time to have the laser shipped, and delivered even if it hasn't been sent yet.

Re: Just bought three lasers from Sci-Fi

It is now the 86th (order receipt was on Jan. 16) day waiting for my scifi 1W 501b. In this time, I have ordered and built 2 lasers. I asked for a refund, but they had already sent the laser. I was honestly pretty pissed, but then they offered a significant amount of money for my troubles. I feel like a prisoner making tallies on the wall, counting the days as they go by. I feel bad for Eitan becuase he makes very good quality lasers for great prices, and is a really trustworthy person. But all of this stuff happening lately makes that kind of go away. I really hope Sci Fi can pull through this and make all well. :undecided:

EEK:wtf:
I just worry because I've seen 'trustworthy' people suddenly go off the deep end due to a substance problem or other personal issues.

I too would like to see a resolution to all this, but outside of refunding everyone until they get their laser I'm not sure how it's gonna happen.
