Isn't that the truth,
I was riding home from the gf's one night last summer and these guys in a little 1/4ton pickup pulled right up behind me at a stop sign (like 6 inches away).
I rocketed away when I saw them and then backed my speed off, I took a circuitous route and then carried on my merry way but as I turned one of the last corners before home (I live out in the country) I saw an at least similar truck coming through an intersection so I kicked up my speed a bit more.
Lost sight of him for a few seconds (pedestrians around so I couldn't watch my mirrors very close), the next I saw was low, square headlights in my mirror and matching my speed. I got out of town at that point and really kicked it up (~200km/h). I don't like to overdrive my headlights because there are a lot of deer in the area so I didn't go faster than that. Looked behind before I got to my driveway and there were no lights so I turned in (and got ready to shut off the bike (to put out my lights).
A car comes ROARING in behind me, he had to have been going 200km/h to catch up that fast and as I got off my bike to go break the guys' faces (carbon fiber reinforced knuckles on my gloves, bullet resistant SS armor on my forearms, double layer kevlar 49 pants, SS reinforced boots, etc.) he flips on his cherries, turns out it was a rookie cop that was watching to see if I was doing anything illegal.... Whups XD
I was ready to turn off after my driveway and lose him by going back to town (if the pickup was close) and making the circuit again though.
Most of my friends don't even know where I live ^_^
Sorry for the long story, though it a little similar though.
*The cop didn't try to give me a ticket after he heard what had happened, I also asked him if cops are allowed to go over the speed limit without the emergency lights on
He was the one good cop I have had any experience with BTW
