I wonder why my PL520 build is putting out so much power for the same diode you’re using and mine is supposed to be 220ma driver as well, and when I put my only G2 lens on it it hits around 100mw. Could be that the driver is more than 220ma but I don’t have a way to test it. Unless mine is on the verge of exploding :thinking:

This got me thinking. I have the PL520 50mW diode running @ 210mA with an x-boost. I get 130mW with a G2.

Rich, 39mW @ 220mA seems low? Or, maybe i also have a PL520B 80mW (120mW on DTR's site) diode! its a 3.8mm can, i bought from Techhood so who knows :crackup:

That’s definitely a possibility, maybe I should finally invest in a DMM.

Yeah I thought that was a little odd. 130mw is crazy good for the PL520! I wonder if the driver has a lot to do with it but current is current so I don’t see why it would, are the Survival Drivers “Buck”? No idea to be honest, I’m still confused on what the differences are between X drive, Super X drive, buck, flex drive, and x-boost are.

Hi, I deleted the sale on the 520nm /14500 pen to evaluate the lower LPM reading. Will resist it if it works out.
