Are you sure you don't have the PL520B diode?

Yes it could be the max is 275 /50mw so my 220 is at peak 40 then settling to 39 mw
Yours driver might be putting out more

This got me thinking. I have the PL520 50mW diode running @ 210mA with an x-boost. I get 130mW with a G2.

Rich, 39mW @ 220mA seems low? Or, maybe i also have a PL520B 80mW (120mW on DTR's site) diode! its a 3.8mm can, i bought from Techhood so who knows :crackup:

EDIT: Oh and good luck on the sale Rich, regardless another proffesional build from yourself :beer:

I was actually thinking the same but I couldn’t see Jordan sending me the wrong diode, maybe I just lucky with the diode :D

That’s definitely a possibility, maybe I should finally invest in a DMM.

Yeah I thought that was a little odd. 130mw is crazy good for the PL520! I wonder if the driver has a lot to do with it but current is current so I don’t see why it would, are the Survival Drivers “Buck”? No idea to be honest, I’m still confused on what the differences are between X drive, Super X drive, buck, flex drive, and x-boost are.

Hi, I deleted the sale on the 520nm /14500 pen to evaluate the lower LPM reading. Will resist it if it works out.
