Sale thread/ Hosts/Heat Sinks/Focus adapters/lasers

Hi Folks , :wave::bumpit:
Price drop on this full copper side button 495nm builds Thanks ..
160.00 + 7.20 2nd day priority mail.....
This is still up for sale , the customer said it stopped working, so after a little inspecting it was only the brass button not making contact with the switch. So i machined a new button...
Works perfectly ..

Rich:)

Hi Paul,
Im surprised to awesome custom copper detailing on this 495nm build. Oh well thats the way it goes ...

Rich:)

I also thought that all copper host sold..
Member have to be missing it?:undecided: and it eerks me big time;)
Rich, as this thread is now 45 pages maby start a new part 2 sales thread with pic's with you have now..

Rich, that thing is way awesome. I just built the 405nm C3 Vio-latile:). Had I not bought those components when I did totally woulda been sold to me.
-Someone please buy that before I get into trouble :D

Hi GSS,
I just might revise the builds that have not sold to bring up to date . Folks do go through the thread for pics and PM me for builds and for completed builds. But i will get something together soon good idea..

@ SGD,
I am surprised to but its here and if any one wants it . with the other NDB7875 just let me know. I price dropped the 495nm also.. so it won't come down anymore , its a fair price for that custom in that WL..

Received the 495nm build yesterday, but it was DOA. Rich visited me, picked it up, and traded it for a new one (the copper one.) He's a great guy!
This laser is AWESOME! Definitely my favorite laser color (after 583.8nm and 561nm, of course :D)

Going to post a review later.

What happened to the failed laser, Rich? I hope it didn't eat the diode. These 495nm diodes pull about 1 amp of current to power these diodes with the Nano Boost/Buck drivers set at 275 mA. That extra power is going to waste heat and I have been telling members not to use these in pen builds with no heat sinking. I'm not saying your builds have no heat sinking, but some of these pen hosts don't.

Hi Paul,
I was puzzled about the fail my self so i went ahead and hand delivered the full CU 495 to STA it was really nice to meet an LPF member in the flesh. Ok well i went down to my shop and through the diode alone on the Power meter and the diode is great putting out the norm. The nano failed as with all the lower power diodes as the 495,480 and the 505's the Nano's are set to 275 respectively . So hey i guess it luck of the draw even with the drivers . The best part is i am glad that STA is a happy camper and i also gave him a 14500 cell in a cool little case with the build. STA treat it right wit low duty cycle and no Gorilla tactics buddy LOL!!! Paul thank you for the reply buddy.

Rich:)

Good to know the diode was okay. I would hate to see one of those go. I wonder if the current the Nano Boost driver pulls to drive these diodes at 275 mA could have been a contributing factor. I always cringe when I see it pulling an amp from a Li-ion battery with no heat sinking on the driver. Thanks for the information, Rich. + Rep. :yh:

Thanks! It was great to meet you. I will make sure to treat it well :D

By the way, are there any 480s left, or are they all gone?

Those are goooone! In a hindsight is 20/20 kind of way, I wish I had held onto more than just one diode. It never occurred to me that the few there were was all we would ever see. Since then, I have never held onto just one diode.

Damn. Guess that gap in my collection will stay a gap for a while. :/

Well, you could buy the Osram 480nm diode for, what, $550.00. I might not have that right because as soon as I saw the price, I forgot all about it. Not a price I would be willing to pay.

That's a 488, isn't it? Or does Osr@m have a 480 too?

In any case, I'll probably end up paying an obscene amount for one eventually.
