Hey FML, I have done all the checking and tinkering I think I need to to verify this, but I figured that I should ask you just in case there was something I missed.
I traced all the paths, tested all the vias and everything, and unless I missed something, all 3 lasers, the driver's main power, AND the program/option buttons all have their negative leads going back to the exact some ground/the exact some voltage. If this is so, then is there any problem with just running the positive wires from driver to components, then running the negative leads to a common ground block, and from that common ground block back to the power source negative (terminal or battery negative)?
I can't imagine a scenario where it wouldn't be alright, since all the component negative leads go back to the same "ground" potential (ground when plugged into a wall wart, just negative when connected to a battery), as long as the wires/connections can handle the appropriate summed currents.
ETA: Also, do you think you could possibly embed the photos on this thread and have them hosted here, instead of photobucket? I don't think Avery would mind for this one thread, though I'm sure he appreciates that your LED Orb thread photos were hosted elsewhere over the past couple of days.
ETA2: Nevermind that last ETA, I found the images on the photobucket page, so I have them now.
