Cool, feel free to.
Credit is actually due to "whiteg" over at PL for creating this amazing show.
(I will be updating the video when I get home)

If I may be so bold as to ask, what's "PL"?
I'd like to know so that the appropriate credit can be given -- a link to PL in my eval. would go a long way ya know. :)

Parts for the adapter finally arrived yesterday but as predicted the 300mw 635 diode that also arrived had my full attention. That thing is a beast of a diode. :gun:

Gonna take awhile to tin 50 wires and put solder in 50 solder cups. Then I just just tap the tinned wires with my iron and in theory they'll sink into the solder in the cup and make a nice joint.

That sounds like a HUGE bitch... I just used crimp connectors... It's not pretty but it works :p Good luck with that, keep us updated :)

Re: Reke 500RGB

Heh. So far it hasn't been too bad. it only took less than 10 minutes to tin all 50 of the solder cups. I started with my chisel tip which worked ok then switched to my conical tip which was the perfect size to fit in the cups. What's going to suck the most is cutting, stripping, and tinning both ends of 25 6" wires. Good think I just bought a ton of wire from Moh's sale thread because I'll use about 13 feet of it in total. Crimp connections would have been faster but by the time I bought the connectors, pins, crimper, and pin inserter it would have been like 30 bucks. The parts needed to make two adapters (in case I royally screw up) cost me less than $8.

I just used a high quality wire stripper with a crimping tip (I got it for that purpose and working with small wires) but that thing cost me like $30 on it's own :p

The connector came with pins and I just poked them in with my meter probes and pulled on them with the pliers... all worked fine.. and I got the end at a closing radio shack sale for like $2 hehe...

Anyway if you want to save yourself some time, you only need pins
1 & 14 (X)
2 & 15 (Y)
4 & 17 (connected together)
5 & 18 (Red)
6 & 19 (Green)
7 & 20 (Blue)

So 10 wires on the DB-25 connector and 2 separate... The other pins are unused.. I don't even think fancy projectors use the other pins as they all mix R,G and B... No reason for a projector to have Z, very few have a shutter and the blanking pin according to Adam was used for older projectors that had a physical shutter for blanking and it had absolutely no effect when disconnected on mine... In fact I only have the 10 pins in my cable.

That could save you a lot of work...

Thanks, this is quite a complex device and therefore needs a longer review to really give a proper feeling for what it can do and how it does it :)

Re: Reke 500RGB

Great review. I also ordered one for myself came in a couple days ago. I will say mine is a little different then the one you received. The one i got has a key interlock instead of a switch and seems to have different effects than yours does also looking at the insides the galvos i have seem cheaper/smaller than the ones you have. If you guys would like i could post some pictures later on and a lpm reading.

Weird.. I wanted a key interlock on but it doesn't matter. Sure I would love to see some pics of the new unit.

Re: Reke 500RGB

Here are some photos of the projector which has a key interlock switch. The galvo's look different than the review unit and the dip switch chart is not correct. It also has some different animations i got a goose instead of the eagle :). My unit seems to be right up to spec it will peak sometimes in the 620's but usually stays around 580mw. I am very pleased with this projector for the price.
