Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

And I don't see any pictures of the machine? :san:
Detailed pictures of the machine would be very nice to see what the inside and outside looks like.
And make sure to show us the HeNe tubes or heads also.


BTW, I absolutely LOVE the Kleenex laser host in the second to last pic, Brilliant!!!

Not buying it until I see the machine/all of the lasers together! All of the new laser pics appear to be from the same host. It is easy to photoshop the beams to different colors if the background is black.
 
Same thing I was thinking, it does look like the same host in all the pics, too dark to be sure though.
It does seem strange that getting to see these pics has been like pulling teeth.
It seems to me that if most of us got our hands on some equipment with all these rare wavelength lasers in it, we'd have been taking pics up the wazoo, everything from the machine itself, ID info., the lasers as they are installed in the equipment, etc.
Maybe that's just me though! ;)
 
not a single hit for this part number IBM6601571 on google. At least for me.

but pictures are indeed pretty cool.

Just for the record, according to the data sheet, it looks like the Coulter Epics XL-MCL Flow Cytometers use an "15mW" argon laser (LINK)

Any cytometry machines that could contain "exotic" diode lasers would have to be fairly new, otherwise they will use argon lasers to get the blue wavelengths. It seems the ones for sale on eBay are all older, so it is unlikely that they would contain anything like this. I also don't see the advantage of using diodes over gas in a system like this, because power efficiency shouldn't matter and one has to worry about shifting wavelengths in diode lasers, whereas in gas lasers the emission lines from the gas won't be changing.

Still holding on to my position that this is BS. Our collective love of rare wavelength lasers has been played. :D

I agree. Teasing around for a week then giving a bogus part number, posting pics of beams that could easily be fake (or just look different than they are due to the camera), and no pics of the truly exotic solid state and gas (hene) wavelengths...got room in your skepticism boat? :can:

Well. That and I highly doubt anyone makes a cytometer now that I think about it that can run more than 8 WLs at a time. And I can't think of anything ATM that generates 380nm either. Let alone include a 612 hene. That just seems thrown in.

There are 375nm diodes, but certainly it seems like 'someone' just included all the "rare" wavelengths they could think of...
 
Yes I'm aware of that. Thorlabs sells them. Though I know they are run at that., Not ultra hot. I know you can buy 504s but not at any reasonable price. had wods with Gary over at PT, and they do offer a 504 IQ module at some 6K. Which sounds far more realistic.
 
No hene needs cooling, and that's the only gas wavelength that would be in it.

Yes, all the gas WL's you listed are HeNe lines, so they wouldn't require cooling.

Just stumbled onto this thread, very interesting to say the least. I'd definitely be up for one of these cytometers as soon as we get a bit of proof that you're not trolling. All evidence so far suggests that you are, but I'm not going to give up hope just yet. :beer:
 
just comment what do you want to see and i'll upload it.
A picture of all of the lasers lined up next to each other would be very helpful, along with the manufacturer of the cytometer. Also I would really appreciate it if you could post some pics of the HeNe's even if you can't get them working. Thanks. :beer:
