probation getting it out of my system

Violence, rape and murder are all acts that harm another human being. Deciding to use mind altering substances(assuming that they don't cause you to become violent or do harmful things like heroin/meth/crack etc) hurts nobody. Who is the government to tell you whether or not you can smoke a plant that grows from the ground?

As far as changing the laws is concerned the government doesn't care much. They care more about their corporate buddies and pleasing the right people. The cotton/pharma/paper/chemical industries are all terrified of legal hemp/mj and they do everything in their power to buy off those in power. The whole reason it was made illegal to begin with was because some guy in charge of the federal narcotics bureau had ties to the paper industry and they started a big fear and propaganda campaign to terrify the public. Here's some of the reasoning behind the illegality of pot.
Harry J. Anslinger:
Reefer makes darkies think they're as good as white men.

Harry J. Anslinger:
Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.

Harry J. Anslinger:
You smoke a joint and you're likely to kill your brother.

Richard Nixon:
That’s a funny thing, every one of the bastards that are out for legalizing marijuana is Jewish

-Sorry for the big rant, but this has always been an annoying issue for me. Our country has so many important problems that could use the energy and resources that are wasted on this pointless prohibition and that's not even mentioning all of the legitimate uses for the product in question.

The government does have the right to tell us if we can grow something and smoke it, that's what they're elected for, is to make the rules. I'm not arguing whether weed is bad or harmful, as I don't think it is. I think it has legitimate medical purposes. However, smoking weed for the sake of getting high is not a legitimate purpose.
Obviously this Harry J. Anslinger is a retarded douche bag.

take a look at the crime rate in amsterdam

I've been to Amsterdam twice, and the only reason their crime rate is so low is because they turn a blind eye to the majority of the crimes. The crimes are still there, they just dont do anything about it. Heroin addicts are abundant and are always begging for money. There are guys on just about every street block stopping you to sell you hard drugs. Squatting is ramped, and they damage property. Pick pockets are everywhere. Prostitution (white slavery actually), including kids at under 10. Plus a boat load of other stuff. Its a cool place to visit, but when you take away the novelty you can see what a sh*t hole it really is. I wouldnt want to live there.

i dont see where theres much freedom in having a "big brother". if the gov had their way we would be on camera 24hrs a day and they would tax us to pay for the equipment.

free·dom/ˈfrēdəm/Noun
1. The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
2. Absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.

we have a "do what we say, not as we do" government. quite a few of the politicians that made the laws are the ones that break them but they get off b/c of who they are and who they know.

i didnt even see your post. per capita the crime rate is lower. maybe you were just in the "hood" cuz theres "hoods" everywhere and have all the same problems no matter where they are.

how did you know all the people begging for money were heroin addicts? do you have some kind of "heroin addict" detection device? did all of them show obvious track marks?

and before anyone critisizes my post about "big brother" take obama care for example... either have your own insurance, buy insurance from the government or pay a fine... its unconstitutional. seems like no one remembers what that is any more but thats what gave us our freedom to begin with. george washington was a pot grower even it it was for hemp.

Compared to the US, crime rates in the netherlands and even amsterdam are very low, especially if you count non-drug related crimes. No need to worry about anything when visiting amsterdam apart from the pickpockets that you will find in any major city on the globe.

As for the cannabis urine test: You're probably screwed, since traces of its metabolites tend to linger for a very long time in your system - this can be as long as a month. There is no mechanism to remove them quickly despite what may be sold online promising just that.

I don't know how the US treats the results of such tests though. Such tests are indirect and only show THC and CBD metabolites, not the actual substances. Perhaps there is some feasible, legal, way you could have gotten the metabolites in your system... like having cooked something in hemp oil and eaten it.

i just got back from amsterdam. i felt safe. but then again i was raving for 3 straight days lol. it was clean and people were friendly. the only time i saw ass holes was in the red light district. you see tourists cussing at the whores in the windows lol.

i beg to differ.. i used to detox almost every month when i was on probation when i smoked. it doesnt clean your system permenantly but water can flush loose thc from your system and the "detox" is a combo of vitamins and certain ingredients that make your urine look like urine instead of clear like youve been drinking a lot of water. i know this from personal experience. had i failed i would have went to jail but i didnt b/c i drank enough water to flush the loose thc from my body and used the "detox" to add the yellow color and vitamins back.

Both times I stayed in different parts of the city. We hotel hopped multiple times to see the whole city. The center is worst than they outskirts.

Um...I dont really brag about my sorted past here, but take my word for it, I know junkies when I see them. I was never a junkie, (except for Technology :)) but I've dealt with them enough to know who they are. And they are everywhere. Vondelpark isn't nicknamed Needle Park for nothing.

You cant say crime in general is less in Amsterdam than other countries. What you can say is that there is less violent crime. The Dutch are very liberal, peaceful culture. But some of the crimes I listed, such as openly pimping children, would not be tolerated in most other countries. They know whats going on, but turn a blind eye, and thats wrong. Also the fact that you have to watch your wallet everywhere you go sucks.

I felt safe in Amsterdam too. Hell I went twice, but its still a shit hole for the most part.
