pucho, just remember. You have to plug the module with a threaded plastic lens or something similar. If you don't to take a big chance of getting heat sink compound in the module, and that would not be good. You could actually use the compound on the surface of the module, just keep it thin and even.

im not sure, i do know the neg. end of the battery is on the clicker end thanks to paul1598419

Yes. They are case negative if you put the battery in the way pucho stated. If you turn the battery around, it become case positive with the black wire being the positive lead in this case.

It depends. The DPSSL 532nm green laser uses an infrared laser diode that is case positive. If you wanted to install one of those, you would remove the pill and install the module and driver into the heat sink with a spring contact on the end of the driver board. Then you would pit the battery in backwards and it would work fine. It all depends on what you are doing with the host.

Probably. I never owned a laser that I bought completed until I had built several of my of my own. So, I can't say for sure how your 301 is built, but all 808nm infrared diodes that I'm aware of are case positive.

how is everybody doing today, well i got in touch with dtr and he is gonna hook my module up, for those of you who dont know , he is a great guy, i was gonna send him the balance to add a driver to my module for my 501b host, and he told me to hold out that he would send me an invoice when it was ready, so he wont have any unfulfilled orders, you gotta respect that, so if anybody is planning on ordering from him in the near future you will not be disappointed.

i also order from dtr and he has been nothing short of amazing! 10/10 would recommend :p
