It used to be 532nm, which is more costly to create than 445/635. Now it's 520nm. The real value of the Krypton now is probably $350.

Also - I can pay you $140 shipped for an Inferno. :)

When did it change to 520nm? Is there a spec sheet?

I've always wondered, why is the krypton so expensive?

They've halved the price recently 😊
The krypton is usually $899....
They're doing ALL 4 lasers (inferno, krypton, Arctic , lunar) for $999! Or krypton $499!

Massive improvement from them lads

Nope, they are still ripping you off. They have changed the previously known 532nm DPSS to a direct diode 520nm. DTR sells diodes of the same power equivalent for $220. Still a good deal? As for the $999 for all. Still using DTR as a guide. 2W 445 for $105, 0.9W 405 $118, 0.7W 635 $105 and 1W 520 $220. All of those together with either the same or more power is ... $548 excluding shipping. Wicked Lasers will always remain a rip off, and will often fool those into believing they are the best deal.

Agreed on the point that they're a ripoff, but your prices are a bit optimistic. For example, a conplete 1W 520nm laser cannot, to my knowledge, be constructed for only $220.

I was using DTRs prices for the modules with the driver and g2 lens. Agreed that I didn't include host costs but still made the point that I needed. :)

Using a NDG700 diode and a 1.8a driver from DTR, 12mm module and 8 dollar lens, then one of my 15 dollar MX-900 host with repurposed spring board and a 2 dollar length of 1.5 inch round aluminum bar stock drilled and tapped for set screws that I get 100 for 5 dollars or 5 cents each, and I bought 100 inch bundles of wire from Moghasam but you get enough from DTR to do the job if you buy a wired driver 27 dollars.

So about 220 ish is what I could build one for, but I do already own batteries and a charger, but for that 1.8a driver a cheap battery and charger would work.

NDG700 in module wired = 160
wired 1.8a driver = 27
3 ele for green = 8
mx-900 = 15
aluminum sink if you bought cut to 3 inches long = 5

------------------------------------------------------
5 cents for a set screw brings it to 215.05

A cheap pair of 18650 and charger = 10 dollars

Between the wired diode and wired driver you have all you need.

You do need to own a 5 dollar drill and tap for 6/32 or 8/32 set screw that are dirt cheap and a 12mm drill for the module, a couple self tappers hold the sink in tight.

A cheap hand drill and vise from harbor freight 20 dollars
So even if you had to buy tools you could build it under 250

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's one ready made for 350 with profit for the builder. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1W-to-1-4W-...032769?hash=item33b9b5d1c1:g:-SwAAOxyGxxSK7OM

p.s. I don't own a single surviving WL laser, their build quality is poor, heat sinking is piss poor. Some of their early pens were ok, I had a 55mw 532 that was an AAA eater but worked well for a while, but the krapton, I wouldn't want one for anything but junk parts prices.

So what's the reasonable prices for 1w and 2w 532nm or 445nm? Really confused with so much huge differences on pricing, I have been seen 5000mw 450nm price lower than $100 and 1000mw ones sell on $399 or more.

Those 5000mW 450's are not 5W. If you are looking at cheap chinese lasers, they are not genuine. Look at Sta's guide of laser companies before you buy. GUIDE: Which company should I buy from?
Thanks a lot for the info., I have checked the guide and would like to get a 1w blue laser pen from laserBTB, also I found another site selling the same power but price is lower, could you advise which site i should buy from? Thanks.

No problem, without a doubt LaserBTB. They have very good with safety, their quality is good. You also are likely to get a slightly overspec laser.
Now, what model are you hoping to go for, and what goggles will you get?
