pot-mod 100mw O-like

no just leave the thing alone it's fine as you get it!!! A laser is put together for optimum running life and power, just leave it like that.

I did already before I started this tread the pot mod with my 100mw laser. Now I'm afraid it wil broke so i want to set it back to a safe value

Even if you didn't see any increase in power when you pot-modded it, it doesn't mean that the current is not upped, you should reset the pot to where it was to avoid killing it.

Turn the pot down till it dims. Then slowly turn it up till it does not get any brighter. Then back it off a little.

The potmod was like this: Turn the pot down till it dims. Then slowly turn it up a little until the beam get very bright. Now i have to turn it more clockwise until the beam get any brighter and then back off al little?

Shit ! Shit! damm!
I did your method and the laser broke :(
With the pot mod the laser didnt' broke and was ok for days hours playing.....

It didn't break because of his method, it broke because you messed with it in the first place.. It just happened to finally give it up when you were trying his method..

Next time you want a more powerful laser, buy a more powerful laser. Or be prepared to kill a whole bunch of them with pot mods. Pot modding is NEVER a good idea because it ALWAYS kills the laser. People tried to warn you, but did you listen?

I listen but i did the pot mod before i make this threat. Is it possible to repair the diode?

no-you can't repair it. Sorry, try to pay attention better next time, these guys gave some good advice.... Just buy a red laser for like 50 bucks that can burn stuff.

Listen? Bull$h1T

You totally ignored Tech_Junkie & Gryphons expert opinion, & pot modded it regardless LOL
Only one to blame here is yourself!

Your best bet now it to see if Susie can replace the diode for a small fee as you've just void the warranty.

^Easy... some people just learn best the hard way. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you learn from the experience.

IMO I wouldn't have messed with the pot the second time to try to fix it. The problem here was attempting a potmod in the first place. If the laser was still lazing I would have just left it at that.

Tech_Junkie's advise was correct about how to get the pot to normal value, but there is always a risk while touching the pot.

I really wish we could get everyone to forget the potmod nonsense. It confuses people without a good understanding to think they can turn rust into gold. You need to pay for gold!! lol

No need to be so hostile.

If the diode burs out it can be replaced for relatively cheap, but if you are not confident that you can properly remove, realign, set current and reassemble the module you will be better off just buying a new one.
Your diode is not guaranteed to die. If you want to set it back to the preset current level, just turn it back to the approximate position it was at before the adjustment and you should be fine.

Stupid I tought it was broken but the battery was emty....
After that I open the module and de lenses are bad now.....
I try to clean but it''s still an unclean dot. I clean it with some kind of medic aLcohol and try a lot of things but I'm afraid I ruin the lenses.

But I bought now a 150 mW module I going to put it in my DIY Jayrob and do not stupid ''experiments' anymore :D ;)
