Post your pics of hosts awaiting a build

Hey Tater, what driver were you using @ 4.5 amps?

SXD. That's the only one I've used for the NUBM diodes thus far. Don't get me wrong, I completely support overkill. I'm not sure what it is about the batteries that makes me not step up to the 26650s. I'll probably order some eventually. Lol. But I do love those eFest 18650s. They haven't done me wrong yet.

I do find it odd that you can't get more run time out of those panasonics. Try the PF ones next time maybe. I have a bunch of PT-54 and 121 and tested different cells with them to see what kind of sag I would get and the Samsung were the best but the Panasonics were actually not that far off although I would never use them for what a PT-121 can pull with no driver (talking 40+ Amps).

So, I won't call this a host obviously but I am wondering if I will find a way to fit it in something even if it's just a project box. I ordered this today and it will take at least a couple weeks to arrive. Couldn't resist at that price and I'm fully aware that I might end up having to adjust it. Going to post it in the yellow section and report upon arrival:

Can't really tell what that is. A yellow labby?

That's why there is a link;) It's an $89 O-like "Mini 200mW Yellow laser module/red&green laser combined".
Posted it in the yellow section. Looks to be pretty small.
Input voltage :12VDC
Input Current: <1A
Combine laser Output power :200mW
TTL 0-20KHZ ,5V

Yea, the link wasn't there at first. It isn't working for me. It goes to an almost blank page. And if I click anything, I get a ton of pop-ups. Lol. It's weird because I see the yellow laser for a split second, then a different page.

Works fine on any of my computers and my note 4. Don't know what you are using but if it's a phone or tablet tell it to give you the full site.

Made 3 more 532nm units this week. One is uner 100 and the other 2 are just over 100mW:). Think I need to post all the recent 532nm I have built over the last month.

HI,
A little late but i have a few
I also have about 6 2-D cell mag lights to mod and about 24 -501B hosts also.Cant never have to many hosts on hand whatever they may be.

I have really taken a liking to these Budget Beams hosts and I had to add some meat to one for my triple foggy night build, only thing is I am now addicted to 465nm but I don't know if two 26650 efest batteries will carry 3 NUBM07E's.
Into a 1 ohm load the batteries put out 6.6 amps at 7.1 volts...so 46 watts and just the diodes need 3.5 amps @ 5 volts...so 16.5 watts out of each driver, and they are not 100% efficient...No I think I will have to go with NDB7875's.

520's would work but I want the burning power as well.

I went with double 8/32 set screws, no more unscrewed modules for me.
It feels good in my hand, not too heavy and not a lightweight either, by the time I get 3 diodes I may have it polished, but mostly I want to see some beams....Yes I could go with M-465's but I really want as much burning power as I can get and the 7875 is such a sturdy diode.

Well, if two 18650's will work for a 6W NUBM44 I imagine your three NUBM07E's will work with two 26650's for long enough with that heat sink, heat will likely be the bigger problem before the batteries are drained.

There are plenty of batteries that will be able to handle that load 18650 on up. It's just a matter of run time.

Yes I retested drop again with the same 1 ohm load driven by a SXD set @ 4.5 amps and my batteries did not drop that much, so I think I can do 3 07E's set at 3.5amps because the SXD is more efficient that I thought.

I have 3 loose m-140's I just need a couple new buck drivers, but I want to do something more than that. If I were to go with 3 NUBM44's then I probably would need a third battery. Oh thinking of that 3 x 26650's are about the same length as 4 x C cells, 7.5 to 8 inches depending on if they have button tops/protection circuits or not so 4 c-cell maglites will make good future hosts.

Here my winter plans. Diodes I currently have for these builds are
PLP520b1
NDG7475 1W 520nm,
NDB7675 1.4W 462nm

This host is nearing completion, thought I'd share a sneak peek. Will be able to hold a lens with a 2.75 inch aperture for a low divergence fat beam output:

Ehgemus is working on this between other hosts he is building.
