Just got a polishing wheel and I was bored. I know this has been done before but I thought I'd share.

Nice job. Did you put the back part in sodium solution to eat away the anodizing ?
You sand the front part right away.

^Thanks! It looks much better like this but I think I could have done a better job had I used an alternative method to remove the annodizing. I used 180 grit sand paper on the front to see how it would look and it took a few hours. So I knew I wouldn't be able todo the rest like that. So I used a wire brush on the rest and polished it from there. I did all of this while the laser was assembled btw o_O

^ Thanks. That means a lot :D. I try my best with the limited tools I have.
The entire process from stripping to polishing took about 7 hours of my time total. OFC I didn't do it in one sitting. Took me two days.

That came out great! Certainly worth your seven hours of work. Obviously you were quite thorough at removing the old finish, the result is perfect. Too bad aluminum is so soft that it scratches quickly and easily unless anodized.

Looks nice polished. I have been thinking of polishing up one of my C6 hosts.

Next time you deside to polish a host try Draino Max Gel to strip the anodizing.
Will save you a lot of time polishing the 180 grit scratches out :D

That's a cool new look to a C6! Nice job!

What compound did you use to give it a mirror polish?

Cheers!
