pocket cannon

These are fun. I made one a while back out of brass stock that shoots BB's.
I just use bottle rocket powder and fuses

A bit of overkill :eg:

To go up in size a bit, I wouldnt mind trying
this one..

That should keep the neighborhood cats and dogs off your lawn....

@ Moh... I thought Bottle rockets work on water/air pressure...

Very illegal downunder. Anything under 18" barrel length is classed as a pistol here. I live in a state where slingshots, crossbows and PVC cannons are illegal and you need to be a member of a rifle club to own a .177 air rifle.

i bought 4 lol will be a big hit Down Under.

$20 it doesn't make it through customs Fiddy :D

It'll make it through, probably declared as an ornament.

I'd love to get a full sized one machined to sit in my backyard :D

I think it would be much more fun with a shaked, full can of coke :D

challenge and money accepted :D

Velocity will be determined by powder charge. If you can own anything under 500fps go with something like this:
Look for our cannon on ONLY IN AMERICA with LARRY THE CABLE GUY feb 8 2012 - YouTube!

I can own firearms, so I am not worried about fps, but for those who don't have an FAC in Canada 500 fps is the cutoff for firearms licence.

The oxyacetylene cannon is an accident waiting to happen! I have seen this gas mix do some incredible damage. Two, gases mixed, is like playing with Dynamite. Also the mix is extremely unstable give it a good shock and it will detonate. We used to shoot balloons filled with this gas mixture for reactive targets. (before I got tired of it and moved to A.N.A.P.) The supersonic shockwave of the bullet is enough to cause an explosion.
I don't think I want to have my face too close to the cannon incase it decides to go KABOOM.

Perhaps you guys have a different name for them?

I just use them because each bottle rocket gives me a lto more powder than i need, plus i get a fuse out of it.
and i've always got a lot left over from 4th of july celebration.

The range on that cannon is ridiculous.. He claims 2000ft IIRC, and the
thing can pierce the hood of a car

Bottle rockets  I wish we had those on the shelves here.. I have
lit a few in my time, but you cant just go out and buy some :cryyy:

I think the confusion of the term 'bottle rocket' is due to the making of
water rockets in the past few years.. Featured on mythbusters, as well
as countless DIY's on youtube.. The term has lost its original meaning
which was firing a tiny rocket placed in a bottle...

The only state here you can buy fireworks is the Northern Territory and only on one day a year (territory day July 1st). Possetion or sale of fireworks on any other day is illegal.

Anything that is gets airborne or has a large explosion is banned in other states (ie anything not a sparkler or party popper). That's probably why I see so many marine distress flares going off on new years.

You used to be able to buy fireworks Legally in Canberra (ACT) but they stopped that a couple of years ago. The thing you can buy in Canberra now that you can't get anywhere else is X rated porn.

i thought only people who have residency in Canberra can buy fireworks still?

No guns (for the most part), no fireworks, no porn. Why is it we don't have more of you guys sneaking over the border to the US again? :eg:

July 1st Territory day?? You are mistaken, thats Canada Day :na:

You guys got it pretty bad over there.. Here I had always assumed Canada
was stricter than most.. Come to find out that a friend in the US cant buy
any good fireworks (not all states), when it used to be the other way around, and in .AU
they seem to hold you by the hand in every direction..

No wonder they were so fast at clamping down on lasers... It appears to be
readily accepted when a new law is put in place.

What ever happened to the good ole days when you could go out and hurt yourself
any way you chose, as long as you had fun doing it?? :undecided:
