PLT5 488nm diode for <300$?

We shall see how she responds to this, and if this ends up being delay after delay than I'll pull the plug before it's too late.

Dang. That figures. I guess I might not be seeing one of these diodes after all. A whole lot of knowledge to be had, just gone. :(

Probably one of the most interesting emails I've recieved thus far:
I just checked with our warehouse and DHL tracking number, it is me that I sent wrong DHL number to you, in fact it is another USA client's goods.

I got a new tracking number that actually matched my information, and it looks like it should be here in 1-2 more days.

Joey, are you still planning on sending it to me to take a spectrum of? Really want to see one of these diodes. :yh:

Only if you promise to take a lot of pictures and measurements for me lol. But yes, I don't have the hardware to test it anyway.

You got it. I can even printout a spectrum to send back with it. If I press it, I can even give you power output printouts at different currents.

I will take anything you can give me, and can you take some pics of it running please?:D

Sure. I can do that. No problem. I can post them here or print some for you to have. That won't cost me anything to do.

It has arrived!
This is how it came in the DHL envelope:

And this is what was inside all the bubble wrap and a larger antistatic bag:

And a reminder for the shipper not to show that the value was over 5$...

Now it's off to paul as soon as I can!

Wow, it came with its own cat!
Seriously though, can't wait to see how it checks out with Paul.

I have a feeling the price drop is too quick to soon and this might be 488 sharp just like the 495 advertised sharp that turned out 488 after spectroing,
I really hope it isn't, (OSRAM) is what we want to see! But I have a feeling, probably should have kept it to myself yeah! No PSU beam-colour shot or usending it straight to Paul!

OP said he's still in high school, I wouldn't expect him to have a PSU. Heck, I don't have one either.

And I've gotten a ~$400 quote for the PLT5-488's from the source that is going to offer me the sharp 488's, saying the osram diodes are still 'very expensive'. Still don't have a quote on the sharp diodes yet though.
