Just got back from Miami where I enjoyed watching a few kite surfers doin' it up! I took my first few lessons last year here in Austria and I hope to be able to ride like these bad boys some day...

@Raybo : nice pics, but you should resize them. They're a little big.

@Traveller : I really like the sky in the first pic...

Got my CR2 batteries today

And here's some silver coins

Okay let's see, my first 445nm laser ... ehh laser only picz allowed, right?
They are also 1024 x ratio resolution so I hope you guys don't mind.

There are higher exposure & ISO to display the realistic environment, laser is a bit overexposed and color is way off.

Then, these are toned down a bit to represent realistic visibility of the beam:

(already broken 4 pics a post rule ... :p )

Here are some lasers:

Do you guys see a little noise that's exactly the same as every photo, as if there are dozens od white dead pixels and few red ones? Noticeable in sky, no stars were actually present except the one clearly visible...

Camera is old... but this is not exactly normal I think...

I think that when you push the ISO on this camera you are seeing a bunch of pixels that are easily "overloaded". This is most likely not correctable, sorry... :( But just to be sure, take a ~10s shot with the lens cap on and then review the image on your computer monitor. Take another shot with a pure white background (sheet of A4 at normal exposure, auto shutter speed). It "could" be a case of dust, but I don't think so... :undecided:

You broke two rules in one go, congratulations...

I'm really liking this beam shot photography... I think I'm going to keep doing a different scene every few nights, add more colors as I go along... Beams Over Monterey Bay, CA 12:00am
Now that's how it's done!

Ex-cel-lent :kewlpics: +1

Awsome idea, I will try that and let you know the results.

Oh yeah! Rules are there to be broken :p

Pets allowed in here?

That was a bit older photo, he was younger a bit. His face almost gives you the implication of "Get outta ma' face or else" feeling.

Taken yesterday. I think.

Okay looks like you guys don't like dogs so I'm gonna go a little more apstract, as apstract as a heatsink can get.

Question to follow.

Setting one :

Now, contrary to previous bluish hue, this is more ehh... yellowish. Do those words even exist? :p
Setting two:

What do you guys this it's better?

Blue is kind of more laboratory, professional, futuristic setting,
Yellowish more realistic, sunlight colored, warmer color hue.

And yeah, highest compliments to Bill's machining skills, it's his work, as you can see it's very nicely processed, no polishing involved, straight out of his wonder machine we call lathe.

Eudaimonium, they both look abstract. The blue has a cleaner feel to it.

This one is shocking, but I like it anyway. I hate noise.

I think I almost captured some of awsomeness of multimode beams.

If somebody can really catch the black lines inside the beam, do give it a shot.
