PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Ah ok, I wasn't sure based on how it was worded. I was a little confused as I have had one of those hats before and they don't generally do more than a few milliwatts :) those 3xxnm lasers are great and definitely very hard to notice. They create a nice little spot in the wall all the same though. I can see them as a faint white/blue spot on the wall.

I only recall ever seeing those Laser Export UV heads in 266nm, didn't realize they made a 355nm too. Either way ... Wouldn't mind picking one of those up at some point for the right price.

Seen the faint white/blue spot with the HeCd too - seeing as it was still visible on a chunk of anodized aluminum I figured that was indeed the UV I was seeing. Saying that, it causes most things to fluoresce...

Yes, but not at the price with my limited experience with YAG's=none.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

From the price, he sure is proud of that used crystal!

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Holy cow... that much for just a crystal!?

I'd like to find one for 25$ lol.

/edit.... NVM; The listing ended as I was looking at it.

Maybe he seen the posts LOL.

Someone bought it.

For Pr:YAG it was a pretty good price, considering that much smaller crystals go for much more new.

Yeah. I haven't got much into anything from a DPSS yet but I want to research more before I get into a build especially with parts that high priced.

Wasn't bashing sorry! I wish I could build an orange!!!

Well, I wasn't being defensive, so you're good. :yh:

It definitely was not an item for someone inexperienced with solid-state lasers, I just thought I'd post it because its the only Pr crystal I've ever seen listed on eBay.

Lol yeah with 7mm of it you could probably get quite a lot of output. 10x7mm, and spherical too, that was BIG $$$$ new...pure Pr3+ is not cheap, let alone in a highly tested homogeneous laser crystal. Though if it is YAG no idea how well that's stack up against a flouride crystal. Other than more scratch resistant.

Damn, I'm glad it was sold, it was tugging at me.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

i bet they would take 175 on best offer.

I sent a 125 offer... will let you all know if he comes back at me. I don't have the extra cash really but I'd pick it up.

Looking at what he sells, he doesn't specialize in anything so doesn't have a bunch of laser guys constantly looking his stuff over as a favorite seller, you should get it at a good price. I just bought this big expander a few days ago, ebay can make a man spend too much money:

Expander.jpg

Its a 20X expander, can take a large 6mm diameter beam with room to spare. I already have the 160X model which can't take more than 1mm diameter beam which was too small for anything but a single mode diode, have been wanting one which could take the 5mm diameter beam of my 4W 532nm laser for awhile, found this and offered half of the listed price, he took it. Now if I can just get Special Optics to help me with the specs to know if the unit can take 4 watts of 532nm, I believe these were made for lower power and probably AR coated for HeNe red, so not sure I can use it for high power green. I'd like to set both the 160X 1mm input and the 20X 8mm input expanders side by side and take photo's of the spot produced by a single and multimode diode to show the difference a low divergence diode can make when expanded to the same beam diameter.

Very nice. Keep me in mind if you come across anything usable for 532nm that's reasonable priced 5x-10x I would base a build off it.. so the wavelength is all that would matter.
