My very first laser was the Optotronics 150mW pen, which was purchased in 2012. It was metered by Jack at 159mW, and it still outputs 155~160mW today, nearly 4 years later.
This has probably been my most used laser over the years. The only problem that I have encountered, is that lately after around 30 seconds of use, it will start to mode hop.
They aren't anything special to look at, and they are fairly expensive, but after owning this one, I'd definitely buy another!
I was thinking about mode hopping and was wondering, did you mean the laser starts to mode hop after a constant 30 second run? Or from a gradual buildup of about 30 seconds. In other words, with use does it reach a point where it starts to mode hop as soon as you turn it on?

Dpss have crystal in them so they degrades over the years... a dpss that lasted 4 years is an achievement...
a brand new dpss green won't mode hop if operate with in the right temperature range.... ultra high power ones however will mode hop at first then it stabilize and give a solid out put..( mode hoping could means the laser is warming up!!
Still nobody interested :/
Try ebay maybe? Problem is you'd be competing with all the people selling "SUPER POWER GREEN MILITARY LAZER BURN MATCH" for $10 shipped. People on ebay probably wouldn't appreciate the difference between your quality optotronics pointer and the cheapo 301 stuff.
Your best bet would probably be just waiting for new members to join this forum and then offering it to them when they want a quality laser. All of the long-time members are already drowning in lasers.
I see. It doesn't seem like a prominent issue. That's good. This stuff is too expensive to be failing lol.
Have you obtained a good green laser yet?
I'm still waiting for it. It's in the making/ pending shipping. I'll let you know how well it does.
waiting sucks, thats why i rarely order something from china haha (however yours isnt from china, just saying waiting sucks lol)
Cake, like Razako said alot members bought a decent 532nm soon after being dissapointed with ebay cheapie's. You might be on to something with a trade with something you like. Give this thread a bump once in a while
