If I run both diode on with 1.4A current, then their lifetime is guaranteed to be non-sir, and if they decrease then they will be 100 hours or how much?

The max amps on both diodes are 1.2 amps. 1.4 would probably make it go belly up real quick. :(

See, https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes

Edit, you might be able to find one that can handle 1.4 amps ( sure would be bright,) but you go through quite a few I'm guessing till you found one. But if you do. Beam shots, those I'd love to see. :)

I have a fair bit of experience with Mits 500 and the Oclaro 700 builds, both can be set around 1.4 A - 1.5 A and they do last. My personal 500 however has dropped in power from 1.4 W to around 900 mW over 5 years of almost no use (perhaps 5 - 6 times a year at max 10 secs a run). Im guessing this is due both to age and the lack of a can. Due to the can on the 700 and the similar output levels, the 700 was just slightly less efficient in my experience, Id be inclined to go with the 700.

Interesting, I might just have to try pushing them harder just for kicks. :thanks:

thank you-
Do you have drivers for it? -I just have AMC 7135 and I do not like this driver<<<Hope you can help me - my good friend: Yh:: Yh:: Yh:: Yh:: Drool:

I used the Survival Laser driver presit at 1.25 amps for the 500 and the nano driver from DTR sit at 1 amp plus for the 700. Both seem to be holding up. Grainde just mentioned you can push them harder so I'm thinking of giving it a go???? So be interesting ???

I've only tried up to max 1520 mA i.e. 4 x 380 AMC 7135 chips on Njang driver. This was used in my personal build. I only noticed a power drop after around 2 years. These drivers are great with these diodes, due to the VF. This means you can run your laser on one cell and have modes!;)

Edit: Other option would be 4 x 350 AMC chips to give 1400 mA. :)

This makes me think that I ought to check the output of my Mits 500/sinner MS-SSW build, it had been doing 1.25W with the 4 x 350 AMC driver, but it's been 3 1/2 years.
I know it's still working fine, but like yours, I only power it up occasionally; the power may be down and I just can't see it.

Visually I couldn't see much difference, I just happened to check it one day on my LPM ;)

At OP you can get these drivers from Kaidomain.

I have to add that the Mitts can take 1.4a just fine and the AMC 7135. 3mode driver works very well with it, 1.1-1.3 watts is awesome, These Mitsubishi diodes are really cheap know and bonus very tough!

The Oclaro is good for 1amp.

This one in the video is with Flexdrive at 1.4a old video and still going strong same for the AMC GUS MEC Mod!

Thanks BadBoy, I will have to push a Mits a little harder and see how bright I can get one! :)

Wouldn't push the mitts past 1.2 amp, I blew one. Try 850ma on the Oclaro.

I realize I will be taking a chance. Their not all that expensive. I'll use my psu and LPM, slowly bring up the amps watch the graph when I see it starting to level off I'll mark it and set the driver there. Hopefully I get a good diode that can handle a few more mAh's and if not , I had fun trying. :)

Nice job. I was impressed by your contact board/plug as a way to get the positive battery contact to the driver. That was thinking way outside the box. Can't rep you again yet.

Thanks Paul, but the praise needs to go to EP, he made the host and contact board. All I did was wire it up, the board idea was his. Think it worked quite well. All I did was burn a little channel around the outside of the board to keep the ground wire secure. Got some different smaller hosts from EP and love them all. :)
