O-like. Simply because it is almost four times as powerful.
 
i would go olike cos its 4 times more powerful too, plus it has double tec cooling :D remeber to post us some pics if you get one
 
Your better off with DL IMO, you can be sure of quality, and you get a 12 month warranty, but if you wanna save some money, you can get a 473nm labby from Glenn's group buys from CNI(same as the DL one)

I would go with the o-like one just because of the power (60-80mW>>20mW of 473) and the claimed divergence (0.8mrad vs. 1.5mrad). I am sure the o-like ones are built fine, and should work for a few years (depending on application), but, of course not as well built as CNI lasers. :yabbem:

Claimed is the key(as you italcized)

O-like is considered very reptutable and of somewhat decent quality but for wavelengths and prices like that, CNI is your absolute best bet. The o-like one *may* be exactly what they say it is, but with CNI, you already know for sure 100% of what you will get, and that it will be as advertised.

But even if the O-like one is half the power (which it of course is not), and has +0.5 mrad divergence, it STILL beats the DL module

Hey, its possible. The final desicion is up to the OP, im just trying to give some food for thought, even if the o-like one fails, or turns out crappy, they would most likely exchange it for a new one, and it is the better value price wise for the power, however when I choose a laser personally, I tend to want the best on the market with the highest rate of success and build quality, and the CNI 12month warranty on their labbys, but thats just my personal preferance. 473nm is getting common enough now-a-days, maybee the o-like manufacturer is capable of producing it, however the stability will not match CNI....
 
The O-Like 473s cannot run a 100% duty cycle while running in CW. They do need additional heatsinking for long run times.

If you're planning on modulating it, its not as big of an issue..

MBL-III-473nm-150mW with 10% stability cw/Unit $1200"

50mW for $600 seems a good price, compared to $550 for only 20mW.

HE also ships all lab style lasers seprately from the GB so you would not have to wait.

for something like this, I would not go with O-Like. There great for mid quality lasers, but will not touch CNI.

I bought one of O-likes 50mW Tec cooled labbys a couple months ago from their Ebay
store and i couldn't be happier with it. After a short warm up it runs at perfect TEM00
and is very bright! It will even smoke tape with a little focusing :cool:

Go for the O-like laser

The OP stated it had to last, well CNI will last, and the 12month warranty gaurantees it will, or it will be fixed. If you just want a 473nm labby for the sake of having one, sure go with o-like, but If you need one for a specific app where it will have to last, and run 100% at CW then you are far better off with CNI, Ice is right, just get it through the GB or even direct from CNI, and use some of the money saved by cutting out the DL middle man, to get a stronger unit.....
 
thanks you guys, personally i can't afford any of these lasers. i'm asking for a friend of mine who uses them for microscopy. he has the dragon lasers one but he'll be getting the o-like and i just wanted to make sure thats the best way to go (it is for me because i get the dragon lasers 473 if they get the o-like :wave:).

oh and for ash... the spoon is there you just have to look harder
 
I did a review of the O-Like 80mw 473 labby a while back. It puts out ~ 65 mw so it's slightly underpowered, but the output is very steady. I cool it by sitting the mounting in a water bath. Seems to do the job. I have run it for 8-10 minutes without any drop in output.
