NUBM06 More fun than a beer soaked slobber knocker.

Will you be getting a NUBM06

DTR has some NUBM06 on his sales page.

damn you noticed it before me and I've been checking often. no power graph info though, that's what I need to see. I just asked him about this diode the other day. my nubm44 is doing that BS where the bar starts to have sections of it dim, mine got it's first (naturally right in the center). it still does about 6W @4.5A for now but I will be replacing it eventually, so naturally if this diode is stronger or as strong with less divergence I am interested

My LPM could handle the measurement, I've been tempted to offer it's use if I could just learn this info:crackup:

The one I got from ABarnett has 75% the divergence, that is the 44 makes a 2 inch long line at 15 feet focused through a DTR G2 lens and the 06 makes a 1.5 inch long line at 15 feet through a focused DTR G2 lens.

I also tested G2's and the Sanwu G2 works best with the 6X cylindrical pair when combined with the Sanwu 3X beam expander.

yeah I been watching, saw the sizes you posted. I'm sold on that front. DTR was telling me of worries of decanned diodes degrading but hell my nubm44 is doing that, while my decanned 465nm is doing fine.

if the power is the same, I pull the trigger. maybe even if it's slightly less. 25% less divergent is not insignificant. that said I do like raw power. some lasers are for long distance, others are just to incinerate stuff

I'm considering an attempt to incorporate my host with a cylindrical pair. right now it's set up to incorporate my jetlasers BE. to do both I'd have to rethink the whole thing.

is it true eghemus is MIA? he made another host for me that has a faulty switch, it's the second time the same type of switch has failed on this host. I'm thinking if it's done the same thing twice it will do it again even if I could get him to replace it again. it's doing the whine sound indicating current bottleneck. that and the fact it's jumping around with the pitch of the noise doing up to 150mW when it is supposed to be over 1200mW. dont like the switch because it is momentary anyway

This is a dumb question, but have you tried pressing hard and mashing the switch button around to wear the contacts in?

I have seen brand new switches read a higher resistance when pressing lightly and near zero ohms when pressing hard after exercising them a couple dozen times.

NUBM06, The power to make you smile. NUBM06 with G7 lens at 6 feet vs crumpled up lunch bag.......... Bag - 0 / Laser - 1

yes I've tried that

The real beauty of the NUBM06 is the divergence is better than the NUBM44 and according to the LPM test the NUBM06 is 7.75 watts at 4.5 amps where the NUBM44 is just under 7 watts at 4.5 amps, so the power is close but the divergence is much better, 25% tighter line width, or if you look at it the other way the nubm44 is 33% more divergent as it makes a 33% longer line.

I know you like this SANWU lens now, but you should've left the old messages up on your old G-ball thread for posterity and maybe just linked to the new lenses you're interested in.

more power, less divergence, less money, I'm sold. where did you learn the powers at various Amps?

I wonder how much better this diode would be with my BE. the nubm44 is horrible, and the BE makes it decidedly more of a laser beam than a laser ribbon. bad part is it robs about 20-25% of the power.

I cut down the can on a Gball and attempted to get a M-140 to focus but it would not achieve a tight focus, rather a line with side bars, like an image of the raw output.

Efficient but purpose build as light source lenses the Gball will function and makes a useable beam, but falls short, I need to rebuild my pics and videos as well as some threads, I cleaned up rather drastically last week.

I will try to post some results, and the Gball could possible be kept if an expander is employed on the nubm06, but the nubm07E is too far out of focus.
I don't know about the nugm01t, but 05t, 07e, and 06 Gballs appear to be the same.

All I have to go on is ABarnett's LPM readings, he is getting 7.5 to 7.75 at 4.5amps, I am hoping DTR will post some findings.

I ran mine up to 5.5 on my desktop supply and in the video it looks like it dimmed a tad I think much like the nubm44 that 4.5a is a good spot and 4.75 is top shelf, otherwise as they wear we may go backwards, that's something people don't think about is how they are made to be pushed harder as they naturally wear, so we need to leave a little headroom.

Now that 1st nubm44 that I ran at 5.0 after it was decanned due to a popped window was taking no prisoners, it was strong but live hard die young.

This was ABarnettes best with a NUBM06 @ 4.5 amps

Lifetime17 got this with a NUBM44 @ 4.5 amps

The divergence I tested at 15 feet with a DTR G2, 44 = 2.0 inches and 06 = 1.5 inches.

----------------------------------------------------------EDIT------------------------------------------------------------------

The 06 corrects nicely with a G2 and 6x pair but with just a G7 lens it is igniting at 6 feet and still useful at 14 feet, it's a fun all all-rounder.

I just purchased one from Jordan he said he was going to do some testing on the weekend!

Thought I would try it straight out of the emitter into my zoom lens, the slide focus effect looks great and the spot packs a punch too.

Yes it zooms to a point where ever you want it, but it's just wrapped in cardstock, I need to mount it in a proper twist zoom to keep the emitter clean. Also I want to make the lens holder out of aluminum, as this diode makes heat, all the 5w ++ diodes make lots of heat.
