Turned out nice... :gj:

Thanks Jay. You did a great job! I have not, as yet, gotten a measurment on its weight. Boy, is it impressive! I think I could probably mount dual mini boosts on this thing if I wanted!

That is a sweet build. I plan on doing both a 445 and 405 too. This thread will come in handy.

If you don't have a host already picked out, holler at me. I have a couple of options.

Yeah, I may be addicted to polishing now...

Only thing about polishing copper is that you will have to do it again in about a month or so!

Well, I've had it for a bit more than that, and the finish was still barely patinated,
so I think I can handle it...that, and the polish I used, Wenol, has a waterproof barrier which helps fight corrosion. So, we shall see. I use the Wenol on Kirby vacuums all the time, and it does a fabulous job on them.

You should check out my Khaleesi build thread as well. I polished the SAiK heatsink as well!

Thanks everyone! This was so easy, I may have to go ahead and polish my focus knob by Mrcrouse. It's very nice, but could use some sprucing up.

Wow, that is awesome! I use my dremel to polish the top of my copper sinks, but i have not come anywhere near that shiny. Very nice job!

I'll keep an eye out for that...

Chaos, for you, I'll take requests. PM me anytime you want something polished. I'll do it for a fair price.

On a side note, other that the finish getting scratched when I worked on it, this host is fun with the 2-position switch and, with the copper heatsink, I've run >5 minute duty cycles, and the only thing getting hot is the driver; Despite the 4 grams of copper and being directly heastsinked to the pill. Either way, the diode is staying quite cool and I've never hit thermal protection on the driver! The stainless cap ring is a nice touch too.

If it weren't so expensive, I'd consider buying another one of these hosts. At least the flashlight was bright as HELL!

Well, I do have a SkyRay host on the way for a 405nm build. When I get it in, you might just hear from me.

I like the SkyRay for a simple host! What do those things run for a bare host, anyway? I can't see putting my lil 650nm in one of my big, custom hosts from the member builders.
