*NOW HAS PICS!*Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

The 1mm was the difference between Aperture size and spot size. If It was dark I would tell you to shine the laser on an object as far away as You could and set it for smallest spot. Then repeat the mRad measurements as the laser would then be set to infinity.

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

This is a nice review, and I am looking forward to getting my 50mW rayfoss.
Your measurements do look odd, but if you can get a tiny spot at long range it will equal a low divergence. I recently tried the city council hall tower in Copenhagen at 300m with a green 5mW pointer. :D
It was hard to tell the exact size of spot at that range, but it looked like 30cm or less.

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

Well, I am DEFINITELY happy with the divergence and the laser in general....lookin forward to getting my replacement 50mW as my green died a week in. I figure it was just a bad unit and the next will be better.

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

Don't forget the IR filter, and ask if They will meter it as well.

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

It has already been shipped :/ she said for expediency's sake she would send my replacement at the same time that I sent mine back....

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

Ok...Was nice of Her to send You a replacement before You returned the bad one.:)

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

I know, once again Faona shows her dedication to customer service. I have been exceedingly impressed by that.

Re: Rayfoss Waterproof Laser Reviews

Rayfoss really does seem to have their shit together unlike some other companies in China and Hong Kong. I would have no problem at all ordering from Rayfoss as they provide great customer service before and after the purchase.

Great Job with the additional pictures and video.

Hmmm Waterproof.... Is there any lasers for diving anyone knows about?

Nice review. I hope you are using safety glasses (don't know if you got them yet) when you are measuring the dot for divergence calcs.
Remember that it is focusable so you can adjust the divergence of the laser. The green is the one I'm interested in the divergence calculations for.
Red glasses for green laser.
Green (or blue) glasses for red laser.

Just for clarification.... The proper process in which you measure divergence is this.

1. Focus the laser to infinity focus (that is, best dot size at furthest point)
2. Leave laser at this focus and measure beam dia at a given point (NOT at aperture)
3. Repeat step 2 at a much further distance.

Then plug those measurements into the calculator and tell us the results.
