Hi, I recently purchased my first "powerful" laser, a 50mW 405nm laser from warnlaser (UV Lasers/Ultraviolet Lasers (Violet laser ) Laser Pointer- Warnlaser.com)
This is the first laser I have owned that is > 5mW in power, so I am not sure if one aspect of its behavior is typical of higher powered lasers. Basically I've noiticed that there is a "noise halo" of sorts around the center dot, so a lot of fuzzy purple light surrounding a central point; this noise seem to exacerbate at longer distances. I was wondering whether or not I should be concerned with this behavior as I only have 5 days to return it for a full refund if this is a manufacturing error.
In the case that it is not, is there any way to reduce the "noise"? It seems at distances more than 15 feet there's a lot of it; maybe it could be resolved with a lens attachment to better focus the beam?
Any help is appreciated!
