New review: LaserBee 2.5W USB Laser Power Meter w/Thermopile

This has now been fixed:

See that spurious red "0" at the left center of this chart?
Apparently, this was just a fluke; additional charts produced by the Eagle Eye™ software show "mW" rather than "0".

This will be noted in an update on my website and on this BBS tomorrow morning -- including an example of the "correct" chart. :D

That is not the EagleEye Software....
It is an older version of the PC Data Logging software
that will run on computers running an OS earlier than
Win 2000...

PM sent....

I suppose if your life depended on the additional 14 seconds
as a deciding factor I could see some logic in your statement..

You have 13 seconds to measure this laser or we're running you through the tree chipper ;P

:crackup::crackup:....

BTW we tested a few OPHIR heads and it takes the Ophir Head
2-4 seconds to stabilize a reading...;)

My ophir (thanks to the high speed sampling of Trevors FW) stabilises (cant spell that) within 350ms - 500ms.

Are you saying that a 1Watt Laser applied to a room temperature
acclimated OHIR head will show a full 1Watt in 350ms - 500ms....

Seems legit to me :) Aren't these ophir heads the best out there?

Not saying it is not legit.... just asking clarification..

We are still working with heat and differentials... and we
know it takes time to heat things up...
I'm just having a hard time seeing a stable 1Watt heat
differential being measured from 0-1000mw in 1/3 to 1/2
seconds...

I'll do some tests tomorrow with a scope to see the actual
rise times to 1 Watt with those OPHIR 20C heads..

I'll post back here with my results...

Yea I should have used "real" or "true" or sth and not legit :P You know what I mean
We wait for the results :)

IIRC the ophir heads are specified to have a 0-90% risetime in 0.8 seconds, that would be 0-99% in 1.6 seconds. The ophir heads are not the best out there they are just professional stuff, almost all professional meters are that fast. Not all are as affordable second hand.
