New diode!!! Nubm47-a1

So here is a quick test run. I'll get one with my meter showing current in a little bit.

Also when I said mounting a laser on a drone I didn't mean putting high power laser with a collimated beam. You would need to really careful if you wanted to do that. But putting a stage laser scanner would look pretty awesome if there was fog at night.

Actually it's rather similar here, but I still enjoy flying. ;) Last time I checked France was a bit more lenient line of sight IIRC was not more than 1 km and height around 150 m. Granted for long distance FPV it not that good, but most std setups/ receivers with linear antennas only go to just over a km and unless you start with clover leaves and other antenna combinations paired with a high power FPV transmitter 200 - 600 mW (which isn't legal anyway without a licence) you can't easily fly much further than that.

Edit: Good work Mr Barnett! + 4 for keeping us up to date

Was that at 4.5amps?

The only lens that can do any better than a DTR G2 is a G9 so you could read higher with a proper G2. But is your meter dead on?
How about the line length?
Do you have a G9, the factory ndb7875 lens ?

My meter was made and calibrated by a pro so I know that it's good. Also I've compared it with other meters and they were the same. I have another lens I can use. I'll see how that goes.

You got it. I'll test with a three element and get some beam shots when it gets dark

I tested this nubm44 you sent and it prints a 2 inch line at 15 feet with a DTR G2 just like it should and runs good at 4.5a.

I am curious if the emitter of the 44 looks like this new diode, I have never seen that notch in the top right corner before or an emitter that big compared to the protection device.

Sounds good but you're metering with the laser too close to the LPM. At this power level the radiated heat might affect readings. A few inches of distance would be better.
