Greetings,

I have been wanting for quite some time now to have a host made to accommodate my 10x beam expander.
While I did have some adapters made up to allow me to connect it to any laser using a G type lens,
it doesn't look very good and I have to hold it in place to keep it centered and the lens focused.
I now have a gorgeous host custom made for the expander, and it is tight and does not have to be held to keep it centered and focused.
Currently using a 4 mode driver set at 4amps, 2x26650 MNKE batteries, both end and side clicky, NDB7A78 diode with G7 lens.
I do also have a NUBM44 diode and a SXD driver set at 5.5amps I will likely switch it to in the near future, but first wanted to test with this diode and driver.
Now, onto a few pics....

This was eagerly anticipated and couldn't wait to finish this build. Ehgemus
did an outstanding job on a beautiful host, the carbon fiber adding the
extra touch. I'll try and add some beam shots, and few using different lenses.

cheers,
Moe

Hi,
great job Moe, That 10x is the way to go, nice build keep up the good work.
You might want to get a ESD mat for your work top for electrostatic discharge of all the drivers and stuff there.

That looks great.
Is it focusable?

Greetings,

Yes, you can of course focus with the expander, but uses a normal 12mm module so you can focus the lens as well.

cheers,
Moe

Greetings,

Your right about the 10x expander. Started a bag burning from about 20'. I thought about my messy work area,
believe it or not, have never had any ESD problems. I probably should clean it up a bit...

cheers,
Moe

Greetings,

Thanks !!
I really have to give the credit to Ehgemus as I did not have any design input.
The only part I played was supplying the expander, and assembling it when finished.
He did all the thought and design so that the expander works perfect and can still use it without it and works and looks awesome.
The expander is the one wicked sells, and since the thread is the same, I can also use any of the lenses that came with the lens
kit wicked used to sell. Really cool...

The mess isn't an issue if your comfortable with that it's all good buddy. My bench isn't always the cleanest either for sure. As for ESD i always use a mat and wrist bands when i build it is a sensitive electronic devise. I rather be safe than sorry when i'm spending a lot of cash on diodes and drivers you never know when. But that's you decision i'm sure you will do well have fun building it's awesome.

Greetings,

I started building custom control panels as I finished high school in the
late 70's, and have been doing controls ever since. In all these years
I have never had any problems with esd, or any loss. Have built and
sold many Scorchers and Scorcher Jr's the last few years.
There again I always take my normal precautions.....
I take it you are fairly young, and always use proper safety precautions when working.
If so, make sure always respect and take care of yourself. I blew out
my back 15 years ago. Old with a bad back sucks.
