New 8W+ 470nm DEMON diode NUBM0G šŸ„¶

I got mine in and I am impressed! Its a beautiful and terrifying diode. At 5A I get a wavelength shift to 471nm and an output power of 7.1W. With a G-Ball adapter and G8 there's still 6.9W of glorious light blue light.

I don't plan on pushing this diode any further than 5A, maybe when these become more common I'll up the stakes but for now just shy of 7W's is plenty enough for me.

I believe that's the same as the unit I just ordered only with an added FAC and replaced window can, supposedly they have one listed as 4.75W @ 3.0A vs. these which are 4.1W @ 3.0A....... I will find out what mine will take when it arrives in a few weeks but I seriously doubt it will do 8-9W...... however I would love to be surprised.

I'm getting 6W @ 4.1A from the re-canned NUBM0C ? I just bought, this pic doesn't do it justice at all, divergence is worse than m-140 but not as bad as nubm44, similar to nubm07.

CORECTION Tested with a G2 at 5 meters and divergence is basically the same as NUBM44 with a G2 at 5 meters, ( about 48mm long bar/line ).

Day and night next to any 445nm beams which look purpleish next to it.
I will get the new 465-470nm when they are re-canned.

Nice! I havenā€™t tried the NUBM0C yet, but the NUBM07 has been my favorite diode for the 460-470nm range, at least until this new diode. Thankfully the NUBM07 has halfway decent divergence with a G-Ball adapter and G8.

EDIT: Gluing the driver to the back of the copper module must have changed the inductance in the driver's inductor, now it produces 7.2W with the adapter and G8 which is cool I guess lol

New 7.2W JLD480 @ 471nm next to a 2.6W NUBM07 @ 471nm in an Arctic host.

Thanks for the pictures(wish cameras would correct colors properly). I'll get my 4 diodes this week I'll be doing some wicked convoy s2+ and s8 will sell as a kit. Aiming around 7W+ with G8. 1min on 5min off cyclesšŸ¤žšŸ½

Now that is just sick, beautiful beam... Depending on the cost of the new diode I may just get an NUBM0C like I had planned on months ago but I scrapped the idea when someone said the divergence was WORSE than an NUBM44 and something about the color being less beautiful (??) than an 07 but it looks like those reports were inaccurate and the 0C is a much better diode than it was reported to be. Should clean up nicely with a 6X cylinder pair correction.

Yes a 6X c-lens pair should do nicely, I was going to do that with this one but decided to wait and make some more compact hosts with forward optics shelves.

Absorption is material dependent. One material might absorb 405 great but not 355. One material might cut great on co2 but poorly on diode.

Any chance you would do a divergence comparison between that new diode and your nubm07 with a given lens, like a g8 or a g2? I dont know if using that gball adapter is going to mess up results unless the same adapter is being used on both diodes, though.

Both lasers are running the same lens setup with a G-Ball adapter and G8 so I can do a comparison test later today. The new diode definitely has more divergence than the NUBM07, I'd be willing to bet if it were decanned the new diode would be up there in the NUBM44 territory.

JLD470 is on top and NUBM07 is on the bottom, both with can, G-ball adapter and G8. At 35ft the JLD470 is 88mm wide and the NUBM07 is 41mm wide. In the 30 or so secs it took to get the lasers set and take the measurements the JLD470 burned through 3 layers of the black felt

Thank you! Now I'm curious about how the NUBM0C compares to the JLD480. Also, is the JLD480 really the NUBM0G? It seems to have the same or similar specs and is also just hitting the market.

I'm not sure as I haven't tried either of them but I would guess the older NUBM0C is more similar to the NUBM07 while the newer NUBM0G is closer to the JLD470. But that's just speculation
