I am giving away Netcoins!

Netcoins are an evolution of Bitcoins, with a faster and more efficient Network.

Its a peer to peer currency with almost no transfer fees and very pleasant to use to pay and get payed for goods.

Instant, no centralized company taking or locking your funds. (Likeeee.... Paypal use to do)

So, let me show you how to get your first coins.
First you need to download the Wallet.

You can find the windows, linux and mac wallet here: The Netcoin Foundation

Here is the windows one: http://netcoinfoundation.org/Netcoin-installer/Netcoin-qt.msi

After downloading the client, you are going to have to sync with the network.
In order to do this, the blockchain needs to be downloaded. (this may take some time)

All this happens automatically as soon as the client is opened.
But you are instantly able to use your address to receive the coins I would like to give to you.
Just go to "Receive coins" then copy and paste your address and post it in this thread.
Your address should look something like this: nGqn3Qn1w6nEJye5QuxgRzm4VVDHnppj7Q

I am then going to send 50 Netcoins for free to your address for you to get started.

These Netcoins will show up instantly after I sent them, or as soon as the blockchain has been downloaded if that has not been done yet.

If you are interested in paying someone and want to buy some more Netcoins then there is a nice little guide on how to obtain them here: How to buy Netcoins! | NETcoin Cryptomunity

Be warned, you may find yourself doing a lot of research on cryptocurrencies! :D

I am able to answer most your questions you have about Netcoins, Bitcoins etc...

Or you can ask your questions here: Home | NETcoin Cryptomunity

The community loves new members! :)

Quick stats for those wondering.

Market Cap
$407,169

Price
$0.0017

Total Supply
235,393,781 NET

Another altcoin? Why not. I'll get a wallet set up.

I may jump on this one when I get to my pc later. I missed the boat on Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Still kicking myself for not jumping on Bitcoin when it first came out but wasn't expensive yet. Iirc it was at $3/coin when I first heard of it. Besides I'd love to see if my rig could effectively mine for coin, I get my electricity for my pc for free.

Market Cap as been as high as 6,000,000.00 USD not to long ago.

But good to see there are other people involved in cryptocurrencys here. :)

I don't know a damn thing about all these cryptocurrencies. I feel like I should learn...

Is the windows installer page working for anyone? I'm just getting a page full of text gibrish and an error saying the site isn't responding.

EDIT: got it working! Here's my address: n7mHK3hLtMCFyJzWRwpLa3wEtmYeGRRDWC

I noticed the wallet application has a Mining function, I'm curious, does this replace the need for a standalone mining program?

Beware the confusing and dangerous hell that is altcoins :)

Do not click any links or executables unless you thoroughly check that the links are genuine and reviewed by others. Many altcoin bundles, packages and websites are contaminated with malware that can steal, among other things, any coins you have.

Not knocking your post OP, just giving a warning about altcoins in general. Be safe messing with altcoins! (better yet run any altcoin software on a virtual machine)

So far I'm having no luck setting up to mine. I grabbed GUIminer-Scrypt (the guiminer version for altcoins) but can't seem to connect to any pools (tried both the official one and the dedicated one). Yes I registered and created workers on them. The help file says that CUDA software might be needed so I'm downloading that, but I think that would just make it so no mining would get done, not a failure to connect.

This is why I didn't get involved when Bit and Doge coins came out, couldn't figure out how to mine!

GUIminer is just a user interface that connects to other mining software for better ease of use. If you don't have the actual miner program in the folder, it may produce strange errors or none at all.

You can try BFGminer or an old version of CGminer that has scrypt support and see what errors the software reports directly.

Yep I checked the guiminer-scrypt directory and it has full copies of CGminer CUDAminer and Reaper inside.

I tried running the standalone CGminer but it kept looking for a USB fpga/asic mining device and wouldn't let me do anything, it just shut down after giving an error.

I looked in the help files for CGminer and it said that the author no longer supports GPU or CPU mining.

EDIT: BFGminer files state that it doesn't default support GPU mining, but can be configured for AMD cards. I use NVidia though =/ .

CGminer and BFGminer both use OpenCL, which will work with Nvidia cards although probably lower performance than the CUDAminer.

I finally said the hell with GUI based mining and went through the trouble to install and start up mining DOGEcoin with from-source (not bundled) CUDAminer. IT WORKS!

Currently running at 300kH/sec.

Now to see if I can get it running for Netcoins...

EDIT: successfully mining Netcoin!

If anyone is interested in starting to mine let me know and I'll pass on the info I found on how to get started on a windows machine with an Nvidia GPU. It's actually very simple as the hard part is finding out what to do with what programs, but I've already done that!

Money sent! :)

You can check your balance and the balance of other addresses on the block explorer:
Netcoin Explorer
Like if you don't have direct access to your wallet you can still check it.
Just enter the address.
